Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I guess I'll do this just for fun. I have an idea in mind.

can you qualify that a bit more? "Make updates" isn't really a fix-all afaict. See: the gradual demise of EE throughout just about every update ever made after november 2010 (2011?) -- If we still are gaining players as atilla said, but losing them, we need to focus on why that is, not how to get more.
Instead of getting a bigger hose to blast water through the sieve, switch the sieve out for a bucket.
I was referring to getting a big youtuber to play the game. It worked really well for ShellShock Live Steam when Sodapoppin played it and it got swarmed with an influx of new people, putting it on the map. I'm not sure how well this would work for EE though.

I can name off many examples of this having worked on many different sites and sees up to 500% growth after having such a contest. It works, and will bring in the users. Just saying...
It's temporary, and most people would leave just as has happened with the 1,000,000+ users that have played Everybody Edits.
Sure, with the way things are now, but if the devs stepped up and made more engaging updates, I'm sure the users would stay.
On a side note, as I said from the get go, all it takes is for one big YouTuber to start playing, and you bring in a heap of new players that will stay.
This is true
I guess the other thing as a last ditch effort would be to get the game on steam, where there is a whole new market of players there like every other flash dev that has done so, but at this rate we may never see this game head out to steam.
Wao, this game has went through more developer transitions than the Soviet Union has gone through dictators.
Anyways, can't wait to see what NVD's EE is going to look like.
MAKE EE GREAT AGAIN!
Music/Art Contest
A toughie where you must make a song, and have art in the background as you are going through the music.
I've seen this a long time ago so this it's nothing new. I shared it over with the other game I like called Shell Shock Live because it was interesting to see how close the developers were. Like on Shell Shock Live 2, a weapon was featured dedicated to EE called the "EE Bomb" which fired a smiley at the tanks. It's not on the newest version on Steam now though :c. Probably because Chris doesn't own EE anymore, & player.io is now owned by some other company I think (Not Yahoo anymore, it just moved to a different company recently) Either way it's an interesting piece of history.
Does the daily energy go past the max or does it not fill up at all when it's full? They should allow the daily bonus to go past max to make it a bit more worth it. Imagine the people who only get on once a day, and end up losing energy just by logging in. It's pointless.
Before everyone else jumps the gun and goes "zOMG WHO'S GONNA BE DA NEW MOD TO REPLACE ZIOEXI?!" let me ask: Is anybody actually going to replace him (her?)?
I'm pretty sure there is a lot of people who are capable of not losing their mod powers in a day so yea.
"Gained and Lost Modship in less than 24 hours."
That's not gonna look good when you apply for other mod jobs.
1x80000
That would be great for music levels lol.
I hope they solve whatever is going on in the Kong EE side of things before the contest is up.

The only way the community is going to get fixed is if the community itself fixes it. That is the end game. Moderators are just there to guide the users in the right direction ln making the community better. Even if they do a really crappy job at doing this you guys seem to know the right direction but refuse to point others in that same direction.
You guys can complain that the moderation is doing a bad job at moderating and I'm ok with that, but if you guys solely expect them to fix the community for you then you guys deserve the community you have now. I agree with what @ben said. Maybe if you guys spent that amount of time you've wasted complaining into something useful like solutions on how moderation can be better then the problem can be solved much faster.
What solutions do you propose the community puts into action?
Sorry about the delay. I do have solutions, but didn't have the time at the moment to write them out. The big thing that we as a community can do without the mod help is to discourage the bad behavior and more importantly, don't promote it! If you see another user acting up in a way that doesn't fit with the guidelines, kindly tell them to stop. If they don't just report them and mute and move on. If you see a user harassing another user tell that person to stop and if they don't maybe talk to the person who is being harassed and encourage him to report ant mute that person. In general if you know a person who is being rude and obnoxious and you know they aren't going to stop just don't pay attention to him. Hopefully they'll get board when they can't get a reaction and just move on. If you see someone not happy with those people in chat tell them to do the same.
What is definitely important is that you DON'T FEED THE TROLLS in any circumstances what so ever. All they care about is getting a rise out of you for being a jerk and when you do that it promotes them from doing it. This rule is so basic it's sad to see that you have a forum mod and a former EE mod ignoring this part and putting these trolls in the spotlight and giving them the attention they want. Then turn around and blame the moderation for doing such poor job of taking care of them when they're feeding them. They are just as bad as the trolls themselves.
Telling the devs to add new mods to EE is something that's easy said than to be done. Especially when one of them have broken their trust making it harder to trust a new person to do it. They could do better themselves though by staying on top of things and getting issues taken care of to the best of their ability, but in the end it's up to the community to do the best we can in shaping the community for the better. If we don't, why complain about the current community if we don't care about it ourselves.

Holy2334, my biggest concern here is that the rules are not being properly enforced by the staff. When the staff cannot agree on what is and what is not allowed, the entire structure of what is and what is not allowed becomes a vague, unorganized mess. Either use the current rules, or fix them.
I'm aware. It doesn't mean though that your experiences while playing EE has to be ruined by it. The moderation can be better here sure, but in the meantime you at least have some power in what you can do to take care of the situation yourself and by ignoring the bad users and encouraging good conversations with others will make a great impact in shaping the community for the better. Waiting and expecting someone to do it for you isn't going to solve anything.
The cluster funk of problems in this thread.
1. EE has a mute button & a world filter. If your word filter is on and you mute the bad people and report them you don't have to deal with those people at all. What they should add is an option that allows you disable chat or have it set to friends only so that you don't have to listen to the bad behavior or for parents, keep their kids from doing so. They have given you the tools on how you can avoid having to deal with people who are being obnoxious and rude. Could these tools be improved? Yea, I even gave a suggestion on what they could do to improve those tools. Relying on moderation to do their job properly and efficiently is a terrible mindset (although they should) and they know they aren't as good as they want it to be. That's why you have those tools provided for you in the first place. If you aren't going to use the tools provided for you then don't complain about this at all. Come back when those people still manage to find a way to still bother you even when you have taken those steps first. Even if the moderation & staff don't properly take care of said user, you still don't have to deal with them anymore unless they still manage to figure out a way then there is still a problem.
tl;dr just mute, report, ignore, and move on. That is your best solution.
2. Calling out users on here is bad mmmmk. Even if they are doing something bad IT'S NEVER OK to call someone out for their poor behavior which I see in the (poorly blurred out btw) pictures. Last time I recall part of the outrage on how Nou handled the Jawapa situation was how he shouldn't have called him out publicly on the forums for whatever he did in the first place. With Jawapa doing the same thing here by not blurring out (which didn't matter because I can still read most of the names and what was said) the bad users and pointing those people out isn't good way to handle the situation either. I don't care who these people are or what they did. Pointing fingers is not ok.

The contest will start 10 of april, after the Official EE constest one, so you can sign up while 10/04/2016 and you can start the level in the next day (11/04/2016). You have tree days; the results will be posted 15/04/2016.
Choose a small world that the room size fits perfectly (size 37x22), and fill outside with black blocks. If you don't have it, you can leave it empty.
How long is tree days exactly?
I was too late
Doesn't matter though, because I won a valentine and that's more than what you guys got
Does anybody else know what he does now? Last time I checked he was working on some solitaire game but I haven't checked in a while.
WMWMWMWMWMWMWMWMWMWM wrote:i blame email confirmation
This could be one of the last things that is causing this game to die, seriously nearly every game has e-mail confirmation...
Kongregate.com doesn't do e-mail confirmation. (Although it should) You can play EE on Kongregate and you can make a Kongregate account in 5 seconds to have an account for EE. E-mail confirmation really can't be to blame if there is a way around it.
EE's existed a long time without campaigns and without updates. If it didn't die in the Great Summer Vacation, i kind of doubt it'll die this year.
It's not a summer vacation if it went into other seasons lol.
Anyways @ OP I doubt the game is going to die anytime soon. If anything the person you praise for releasing updates every 1-2 is a big reason why the numbers are so low to begin with for reasons said above. If they stick to what they are planing on they are expanding into a new market (steam) which will be a big help if it does well! You just have to give it time.
All this talk about Mr. Shoe and everybody forgot Mr. Void :'(
Although, the first things that these devs did as soon as they took over was to revert all the silly stuff that Mr. Shoe/Void put in place in the first place, and is now phasing more of that stuff out. You also have to remember those people literally almost killed EE because of their 1.5 year hiatus. Pretty much in a Murican comparison. These new devs are the Barack Obama taking over after Bush.
I think they forgot to take it down for guests lol. The reason why guests aren't allowed to have edit unless given by command is the amount of little buggers who use guest accounts to troll with. It's easier to remember a username that you can ban rather than having to ban all of the guest in case one of them is a troll.
EE is more of a "Family Friendly" game where it's fun for all ages to play. Similar to Minecraft, it's fun for kids to play while adults can be artistic and make wonderful things out of what they have. With that being said, I wouldn't be surprised especially in this day and age that artistic nudity ends up getting you banned, because they last thing Nou wants is a bunch of parents getting mad at him. Just remember, back in the day even chat became an issue because of how angry parents were at Chris that their child was talking to some random strangers on the internet, so where we are at now is a pretty big improvement.
I heard my name and see nothing important :'(
