Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

But what if I don't make the purchases? Will the gems themselves be included in that calculation?

So should I spend the 66 gems I've had on my account for a few years now or will they somehow transfer to EEU?

Ha, I like you Raphe. You seem to be looking at the situation with a critical eye that is also calm. I agree let's move to debates. "The mystery of the EE drama. Whodunnit" then we can have clue-like responses "Atilla, in the lobby, with the candlestick" or whatnot.

Anywho

@Luka504 I disagree. Xeno wasn't giving an ultimatum but rather saying "These are the only two options I see, both of them you are wrong with so unless you can prove me wrong this is my perspective." He didn't say "Admit it or I'll do xyz" which would be what you are referring to, if I understand your analysis correctly.

@Gosha, thank you for responding but @John Thank you for sharing your thoughts on his response

@LukeM I love the comparison of word to pdf, it really helped me, but then I got lost in the discussion about coding and whatnot so I apologize. It appears it was mostly in response to Atilla anyways.

For those suggesting suing, I might remind you that suing is more of a US thing, and Xeno is not from the US so being sue-happy isn't really something his country is equipped to deal with.

It appears as though people do just want to continue to debate over this rather than come to a resolution so I will stop my calls for reasonable solutions until it is wanted.

Okay so Atilla has requested that Joshua takes over EE. While I am glad an actual step has been made towards some sort of resolution, I would probably classify under the umbrella of "get rid of the other side". Clearly no one is going anywhere. So similar requests along this line of thinking is allowing Joshua to act as a sort of "HR" for the staff, actually getting an HR (ha, good luck with that), or staffing decisions need to at least be bounced off of Joshua before they get finalized, etc. As a reminder, when coming to a solution in a social arrangement, typically you give sides options that you would be okay with so they have choice and both sides feel in control.

Atilla/Gosha (since you two seem to be heading up the second group) would the above suggestions work as a possible resolution? Are there other suggestions along those lines I did not think of that you might think of?

BTW, Xeno, you suck at going on vacation as you have clearly been participating in these forums while you are supposed to be relaxing //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink but I'll ignore that for now as it is actually a positive because it shows you really do care about the wellbeing of all aspects of the game: the game itself and the community.

Anyways, I guess I see you as the main part of group 1, of course. What reasonable request do you have from the other side that you think would help resolve this or take steps toward resolving it? Do you have any thoughts on Atilla's suggestion of relying on Josh to help with staffing?

Threes I would probably consider Crybaby and Raphe9000 who both seem to be suggesting some sort of apology regarding the issues:

I'm tired of re-stating the events that took place. As Bee insinuated, it's more productive to come to a resolution rather than readdress the same series of events.

It would be nice if you, Gosha, and Xeno apologized to each other for every wrong that was done in that situation, then. I think that would be a peaceful resolution. (Every meaning just say something like "I'm sorry for everything that happened.")

Anyone else from groups 3 or 4 care to chime in with thoughts about a resolution? I assume 4s are just enjoying the popcorn so I'm sorry for taking that away from you //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink

My favorite times at the beginning of when I started playing were when I started doing art and needed to fill something in and a random person happened to join my world and ask for the code. I would give it to them and ask them to fill something in to help with my art. I made a lot of friends just by passing out my code freely. My code is almost always "nubs" and so people who knew me would pass it along to those they trusted. I would go get lunch or something and someone had added a flower to something I was doing, or someone changed and improved something, or someone had added a minigame. My worlds really were truly collaborative. I don't think I've ever made a world that was purely 100% me. There's always someone else giving ideas, feedback, helping color or shade, sharing thoughts, minis, chatting with me and just creating a community. I never really had problems with trollers or people messing up worlds and I remember those worlds fondly.

Okay so...

To sum it up:

The main groups are
1. people who agree with the firing,
2. the people who disagree with the firing,
3. the people who agree with some parts and disagree with other parts,
4. and then the neutrals.

We can all agree that several people may have overreacted or acted immaturely in and during the situation, on both sides.

What we seem to disagree about is how to work towards coming to a resolution and whether or not talking more about it is going to actually solve the problem. As we often say in my career: it is what it is. It happened. All parts good and bad. All actions and reactions.

The question we need to be asking is not what happened, but rather: where do we go from here?

Unless the goal is to simply become a new post on r/hobbydrama, each side needs to clearly state what they actually... want. And of course there needs to be a dose of realism in here. I'm sure that both sides want to simply get rid of the other side, but that's not an option.

So... Reasonable requests to come to a compromise, or is everyone just here to set the popcorn on fire? It actually doesn't matter if it's the latter or, not but we should decide what we want, as individuals.

If you look into vectors it would look nice and would even fit with the cartoony feel of EE. It is a bit trickier to draw with however. I dabbled in college and it's not the easiest.

https://vectr.com/ is a free program you ca download or you can test it at https://vectr.com/new

The nice thing about this is you can upload anything you already have created. Not sure about importing vectors into the game though.

Sometimes I think about coming back to EE because I miss some of the friends I've made and the people here....

Then I see posts like this one and realize that it was reasons like the fact that this is even a problem that keeps me from returning to the game.

EE is a platforming game, not a platform for your opinions. Go write a blog or post on reddit or something if you want that kind of site.

As a winner of multiple contests, I honestly don't care much about the smilies. I DID care because I was always bird smiley, but then they came out with Bee smiley, so I'm just that now It's nice to have exclusive smilies, but I'm not a collector-type person in terms of smilies (but am in terms of blocks).

If you want to keep having contests and give a tangible reward to show I'm fine with having a "won a contest smiley" and then if you already got that to just give gems (or change the color of the contest smiley to a different color depending on how many you've won!). Otherwise non-tangible rewards like gems are fine after the initial reward (though this would be less motivation to participate in contests for the people who won in the past, which isn't necessarily a bad thing....)

Please no. I have a few old accounts that I haven't logged into in years simply because I lost the password and access to the email associated with them but they still have worlds on them from 2011.

I like Zoey's idea, but good luck trying to organize that, you'll need a whole other person just to keep track of that!

I don't have any of the fanboys (I don't think?) and I don't care either way. If I had the chance to get the old ones I might do it, but I don't mind that much if not.

As for a fanboy 3, maybe you can simply have someone make a world about how much they love EE and email or post on the forums the link. These could even be used in avertising too.

Have we ever not hated the owners of EE?

Even Benjaminsen got hate for his lack of communication and slow updates.

The owner of EE has always had hate,  it seems like it is part of the job.

To be receiving that much abuse, getting death threats and swat threats, does that sound familiar of an owner to you?

Of this game? Yes. Sounds similar to the abuse past owners have gotten, and even past admins that weren't even owners.

I'm not condoning it, of course. It's terrible and immature. It simply is not atypical for this game. It is also one of the reasons I don't stick around much anymore.
