Happy Halloween! Finally, a new Project M update is here (and thank goodness, too, I was starting to tear my hair out lol). It sure has been a while, and there’s a lot of ground to cover. Hopefully you enjoy all of the new additions to Project M since last update!
• When using morphable blocks in the UI, you can now directly select which morph you would like to use (as long as you are not currently using the search function). Now it is no longer a pain to write sentences using the fridge magnets. Super huge thanks to HG for creating this new morph menu! All morphable blocks have been given a tag to reflect their morphable status. Shoutout to 2B55B5G TNG for suggesting that!
• The smiley menu has changed quite a bit! The smiley menu now has multiple pages, and you can switch page using arrows. Super huge thanks to HG, Zygan, and Seb135 for making this possible! Smiley variants have been added. Each smiley is now tagged for attribution. The order of smileys in the menu has been changed to something more sensible. - Speech Bubbles are a new way to give your world personality. Made by Cola1, these bubbles work largely as signs do, with a few changes. First, you can read these signs from quite a distance away. If you are close enough to a speech bubble, you can even read it through walls, as shown above. You can also read any speech bubble that is on the screen by hovering your mouse over it. Perhaps this could be a way for level creators to provide hints for players willing to explore less explored parts of the map.
- This update also introduces the Biohazard Effect. This effect makes it easy for builders to create moving hazards with fake players. With it comes three stages, much like the Voodoo Effect, which influences how powerful the effect is. Any player with the Biohazard Effect can swim freely through Toxic Waste, and has their Biohazard Effect removed when they swim in Honey, just like Poison.

- The three stages of the effect are in order as follows; Outbreak, Biohazard, and Pestilence. If you have the Biohazard Effect and tag a player who does not, that player will die. If you have Outbreak, you must directly be touching that player. If you have Biohazard, your range increases to a 3x3 area of blocks centered on you, and this area becomes a 5x5 block area if you have Pestilence, as shown in the image above. With this in mind, you can evil kill players through walls. Due to this fact, as well as the fact that fakeplayers with this effect can be moved using gravity arrows and boosts, the Biohazard is a very dynamic effect that can very well change the way hazards are used in levels. Special thanks to Seb135 for helping out with this one!

- In order to help creators make these hazards automatically, without the input of the player, this update also introduces Fakeplayer Manipulators. These items can be used to either create, remove, or reset fakeplayers. As always, only 10 fakes can exist at one time, thus you cannot create more than 10 fakes using these items. The Fakeplayer Remover can either affect one fakeplayer at a time, or all fakes at once. The Fakeplayer Resetter can only affect one fakeplayer at a time. If the Remover is set to 0, it will remove every fakeplayer at once, but if set to any other number, it will instead only remove or reset the Fakeplayer with the corresponding ID. For example, in the picture above, hitting the fakeplayer remover would remove Fake2, while hitting the Fakeplayer Resetter would reset Fake3. If the world does not have enough fakeplayers, the Fakeplayer Removers and Resetters will automatically affect the Fakeplayer with the highest ID instead. Big thank you to Seb135 for helping with this one as well!

• Builder’s Club Doors make a comeback in this update. They are opened and closed by getting the Builder’s Club Effect.
• Fast Time Doors and Slow Time Doors work like the already existing Time Doors. They open and close in animations of 2 states and 10 states respectively. Super huge thank you to KyYay for providing the source on making these work!
• Contaminated liquid is poisonous when you swim in it, poisoning the player for 10 seconds if they try to swim in it. Swim speed is pretty fast, comparatively, when you swim inside it, so make sure to swim to safety with this in mind!
• Fakeplayers can now finally collect coins that you have already collected, even if they haven’t collected them yet. Thank you to Seb135 for helping with this fix!
• Animal Antics time trials have been fixed.
• Switches now work properly in campaigns. Rip CTM2 cheese
• The UI is now purple! This was actually extremely hard and tedious to do, so I owe a huge thank you to Seb135 and HG for helping me locate all of the scattered places in the code where I could change each small part of the UI!
• Project M now has a new globe made by yours truly! The level featured in the globe is Project M Tutorial by RavaTroll.
• The lobby background has been changed, and now features the following worlds:
- Project M Tutorial by RavaTroll
- Dungeon Quest by RavaTroll
- Mini und Zoey by Minimania
List of known issues:
- Resetting Fake10 freezes the game’s viewport while you are on the Fakeplayer Resetter. It doesn’t even actually reset Fake10. Why does this happen? Seriously, why? What did I do to deserve this?
-
To do list:
- Some sort of easter egg or contest or something similar
- New Campaigns
- Rewrite the entire OP (In progress! Stay tuned!!!)
