Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: EE Universe - What To Expect?

As a pixel artist, the up-scaling is going to provide so many wonderful blocks, I can't wait! With 24 you now have more divisible options, which will look amazing //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

I would definitely look into multiple layering. Junk Jack made strides in its ability to have several layers all interconnected seamlessly. Heck, you could have switches and/or flowing blocks (not that this should get anywhere near 2D Minecraft).

e- I couldn't haven't rejoined the community at a better time, lol //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

*EDIT*

Will there be the possibility of importing custom block skins?? That would be the one thing like MC that I think would be dope.

Do 24x24 tiles mean that the field of view will be reduced?

One bot to rule them all, one bot to find them. One bot to bring them all... and with this cliché blind them.

Why would it? The window barely fills half a monitor as is.

It depends on how big the resolution of your monitor is, not everyone can afford to play on 30k

I have a 1280x800, and 1280x1024 monitors, so I know, lol.

Vectors are great for promotional stuff/when stuff is not to-the-grid.

Re: EE Universe - What To Expect?

Will the block placement speed be changed or am I being a dumb boi and it's just bots being rly slow

Like, the animation bot cant really place blocks that fast, so the illusion of movement isn't very obvious.
So it would be great to know if this is because of some random block placement limit or just because of the bot itself :/

I'm waffling :/

Currently block placement speed (for world owners) is completely dependant on internet speed, the more blocks you place the more bandwidth it takes, which means eventually you or other players will be disconnected.
The size of messages will probably change as we are making our own API rather than using PlayerIO, but not sure whether they will be larger / smaller / around the same yet as I'm not sure how PlayerIO does it, and I'm not sure how we're going to do it and what we're going to include in the message (I'm guessing smaller, but thats pretty much a complete guess //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue)

Re: EE Universe - What To Expect?

One thing I would like to know is if the merge feature will be disable-able in some way, cause I could see myself getting frustrated by a block merging when I don't want it to.

Also, with the 24x24 blocks what about the smilies? Will they remain 16x16 or be expanded as well?

Re: EE Universe - What To Expect?

Okay, but why not 32x32?

Wouldn't that be even easier to recreate? It would also allow for even greater detail. 24x24 sounds like an odd resolution to me.

Why would it be odd? If anything, it's the only game that would implement such a resolution. Also, there's greater artistic divisibility with 24. 2-3-4-6-8-12. Thirds aren't quite right on a 16x or 32x resolution.

tbh 32x32 is too large and you won't see much blocks on the screen even with 1080p monitor

Re: EE Universe - What To Expect?

This is amazing, you guys literally took almost everything from my suggestions., but I doubt you've actually seen it. Anyway, it's really nice to see the staff thinking the same way as I do and I kind of appreciate that. I'm looking forward to more cool stuff about the reboot.

Also, you didn't say anything about the physics Xenonetix. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/sad

Lastly, the lack of sound effects and music in EE should also be discussed. There could be sound effects for many things: Jumping (normal, low gravity, low jump and high jump), levitation, death, hitting checkpoint. It would also be nice to hear the sound effects of other players. Sound effects could also be added for UI stuff like hovering you cursor on a button, or clicking one. I hope the staff is able to do this since it can improve the game a lot.

As long as you can silence it separate to other sounds like music notes and coin collection I'd be fine with this. Personally, I like the silence of the game. Jumping noises can become irritating and it's easy to have your own music in another tab.
