Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Nice bear though.
Edit: Thanks phinarose for the quick reply! Props to the staff for doing a great job thus far.

Hello! This post is not related to a particular ban (as prohibited by the now-missing rules for this subforum IIRC), rather how in-game bans are handled in general.
I believe that it is important for our mods to list a reason for a particular ban and perhaps the name of the mod enforcing the ban. How can we expect players to understand which rule was broken if the only reason why they were banned is ""?
In my opinion, it is simply professional and helpful to the community for our moderators to spend a few seconds and explain a ban rather than keeping confused players in the dark. Thoughts?
not even remotely the same thing
You seem to be intentionally feigning ignorance to the difference between "illegal" and "wrong."
Facebook has "your permission" to use your content as their own by accepting their TOS just as EE has "your permission" to use your content as their own by accepting their TOS. I fail to see the difference.
Everyone has to agree to those terms before being able to play the game.
Exactly, so it isn't illegal for them to use the level in a campaign. Just like it isn't illegal for Facebook to lock down your profile and showcase it in "Worst Profiles of the Year." Again, there's a distinction between illegal and wrong.
Since there seems to be some confusion being spread here: Just because something isn't illegal doesn't make it okay.
In this case, Aoi clearly gave permission so it's fine. However, I'm sure many people wouldn't like their worlds to be abducted without permission despite it legally being covered in the Terms of Service.
RIP one of the best staffers. Best of luck!
RIP MegaLamb, one of the best staffers
Usually those who ask loudest are the worst option. Hopefully any replacement is mature and dedicated enough not to screw it up.
It's the Epochalypse!
I want a refund for the hundreds of "Potion of Flaunt" that I was tricked into buying!
Referers are easy to spoof and a gross violation of the forum users' privacy. Why is it enabled?
I mean, I had posted the statistics here about a week ago.
Ah, thanks! MegaLamb told everyone in this thread that those stats were confidential, hence my confusion. I guess they aren't confidential?
I'm not sure if there is a threshold of actually logging in, but you should do what you were asked to do. All the staff do have a life outside of EE, but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't do their job at all. Benje00 has done only 4 reports. If he isn't active as a moderator or working on another project, then he shouldn't be one.
The entire point of this conversation was about the time-frame at which community communication was required. You said that you're okay with people taking a leave of absence as long as they let the community know within a certain amount of time. I'm only trying to find out what the appropriate time, in your opinion, would be.
I listed three items above that haven't been addressed by the staff in one month+, are you fine with all three of these?
Yes that's true but that doesn't mean you drop off the face of the earth for a month? It takes 10 seconds to write a post saying that "hey guys ill be inactive because ive been busy" so I'm not sure what you're getting at.
At what point does it become required to communicate something like this?
It's been a month since Toop blogged that he was leaving EE, yet we have received no communication as to what that means for the current staff.
It's been two months since the last EE update. We can agree that MrShoe's year-long, uncommunicated 'vacation' was unacceptable, but how about a two month vacation? Three months?
From what I can tell, it's been nearly a year since the EE blog received an update on how Unity is progressing.
I'm not arguing that the current staff is doing a bad job (in reality, I believe the total opposite), I just want to know what your threshold is for timeliness of communication.
@MegaLamb
Thanks for the list! It would be very helpful for both new and old users if an up to date list was kept somewhere. (Even a stickied post would be nice).
Just wondering, if the breakdown is confidential then why does Emalton seem to have access to the report statistics and an intimate knowledge of the report tool yet he doesn't appear on your list of staff members?
Thank you for the replies @MegaLamb and @phinarose! Is there any way that we can get a complete list of the current EE staff? The staff changes so frequently that I don't really know who's on it any more (and the user filtering on these forums is outdated as Toop is still listed as an Admin after resigning). This list also doesn't include developers (which I assume Emalton is a part of since he has access to the confidential stats).
I believe we currently have one of the strongest moderation teams we've ever had.
Completely agree, things seemed to have settled a bit and I only hope things improve enough to start tackling the major issues of the game.

I'm not saying dedicate your life to EE, but to give people a head's up before leaving for a month..
Not all absences are planned.
---
I didn't even talked about him but about myself, you should go read my post better thanks.
You quoted Benje00's entire message and replied with "Oh no.. I'm in the destructive phase.. This is bad, I need friends but nobody likes me in real life GAAAAAHHH." To me, this reads as if you are sarcastically imitating his post.
However, if I misinterpreted your post and you're not just covering for yourself after I called you out then I apologize. I wish you luck in fixing your IRL issues.
I see all the mods almost every day and I've never seen Benje00 before as a mod.
I guess they all must be hiding from me then.
Benje00 has solved zero reports in the last thousand, as of a few days ago.
Can you give the breakdown for all of the mods? When Master1 was a mod, his entire job was to solve reports. Now he's been demoded for some reason, so clearly number of reports solved isn't a good metric for performance according to the EE staff.
I disagree with Peace Men and Emalton. How often do you see the other mods active in the game? Hardly more than Benje00. At least when he's online, he's usually actively playing and interacting with people rather than sitting afk in mod-god mode.
@Latif, People had pressured him into answering why he is more inactive than usual and you're behaving as if he came on his own to complain about life. Don't be rude to someone answering a question honestly.
Any questions?
What's your rank in OW?
Why would a user be banned for making alts? There are no rules against that.
It is a rule apparently:
Get staff permission before creating a new account on the same IP.
This seems to be implying that making alts with a VPN or at someone else's house is okay to do and then you can use them on your IP.
Megalamb and I have warned him to stop making alts with inappropriate usernames, and after this warning proceeded to do so. This is why he received a one hour ban.
I never received any warning before being banned nor was I told how long the ban was for.
why don't you make a "fire benje00" thread?
We can't fire benje00 because he's already lit AF.
Also he's the best mod.
He got banned for 1hour xD
Wow, when I got banned for making alts it was for like 2 months. RIOT
nice crew but I'm to lazy to read your topic, rdash
I only made it long for the acrostic in the bullets
Dylantherabbit.
Unfortunately crews have a max limit.....
This is a major blow to the crew and I'll have to rethink some things
