Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Unfortunately, I saved because I thought the empty bg's started to form the previous platforms, and I wanted to attempt to fix it manually, as I saw no other immediate solution.

Why did the game delete 40% of this world? I hope this is an extremely rare thing, if it's bound to happen at some point, because I spent quite a lot of time so far, into making this...

just curious, does print screen and pasting on paint work for you?

I downloaded that ShareX program and now it works. Before, none of the buttons that were supposed to capture what was on screen, did anything.

#7 Re: Game Discussion » Campaign mode - alternative solutions discussion » 2015-07-31 16:35:42

Idea: Create worlds for the sole purpose of hoping that administrators will choose them, once they do, you wouldn't have to worry about losing edit capabilities. It's not a good solution to accept the campaign offer, if you have attachment to a beautiful creation that took you a very long time to construct. I personally wouldn't worry about losing rights to modify some things, if I already know that everything is finished and doesn't need improvements. However, if anybody is in favor of using worlds you created (before update discussion), make sure you think one step ahead and plan what last touches you would like to add before you accept it to be a campaign tier. I love the idea of having campaigns; good popularity boost and you could earn items just by playing. Owners should be able to fly, once they completed their own worlds without flying.

Amazing world! Challenging but great art and minigames. Couple tears were shed, I admit, but it was very worth it to collect all those gold coins for the power-ups and Invincible Club //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile 10/10

Credit to Redl3east for the suggestion, i'm just posting it. To get to places faster, just open the minimap and click anywhere you'd like, then you will be automatically teleported to that exact spot of the world, with fly automatically turned on.

I'd feel bad for whoever was pranked into giving their account information... however if I was the "moderator." I would find it hilarious if someone bought it. That has happened to me before with a random user demanding for edit, if not, ban and steal my account. I just kicked the user and he never returned. So all the prank will really give you, is a temporary ban from the world you decided to prank https://wiki.everybodyedits.com/images/c/c0/069_LOL

This may be a bit too complex to program and to use. You can use a portal that leads to a coin door system, which show different signs.

Shadowkirby wrote:

2. Blocks that allow you to change the target and ids of portals; used for puzzles and world owner can set which portals are able to be modified.

This is a good idea, but like the above, a bit too complex to program and to use. You can also use portal system for it.

Shadowkirby wrote:

3. Customizable world size; before purchasing, you can adjust the width and height of the world, and the amount of energy required, changes with size.

I wished for that, but I think the calculations might not fit correctly for it.

Shadowkirby wrote:

4. A time interval system that changes the appearance of blocks, backgrounds and action tools, when time passes and an interval is reached.

I don't understand this suggestion, if you're talking about custom time interval, then I believe it's possible.

Shadowkirby wrote:

You already have chat for it.

Shadowkirby wrote:

6. Copy and paste large patterns of blocks to avoid wasting time placing individual blocks; can only copy and paste inside a square or rectangular area.

This might be a bit complex, you can use bots for it.

7. Spectating bonus: when you're spectating a person inside a difficult challenge or competition with other players, you can cheer them on by giving them a single thumbs up. When 20 thumbs ups have been accumulated, you can receive a temporary aura.

I see no use for that.

Shadowkirby wrote:

8. Ability to carry and place blocks without edit; used for puzzles and world owner can set which blocks are able to be modified.

Why? You can use switches.

7. It's good that it doesn't have a use, that's why I stated that it was a bonus.
8. You can't use switches to carry and place blocks...

Instead of giving someone the code to fully edit/ruin everything you have built while you're gone, limit them to only the ability to fly around the map. No trolls and everybody is happy. People have asked me for edit, only because they want to fly and see everything on the map easier. And I can't allow them, unless I trust them enough with the power to change my worlds, not to.

Can't you do this with portals?

Keeping the same example of the depletion system, only death can bring you to places that normal walking couldn't. If you activate the level 1 checkpoint, and you land in spikes, your health wouldn't change, because you only re spawn at the level 1 checkpoint. Dying doesn't deactivate the checkpoint, to bring you to the place where you lose health. That's why I'm saying two checkpoints, where one has more importance than the other, could work. Unless you're that person that places portals everywhere that lead to the same ID, to act as spikes https://wiki.everybodyedits.com/images/c/c0/069_LOL

This is an idea for worlds that contain many portals / links to many different places. If you're designing a world where backtracking is involved to get through obstacles, you might want more than one checkpoint to make it easier to travel from point A to point B, and in this case, a possible Point C. For example, if you're building a game with levels that contains a health depletion system. You can place checkpoints between the different levels, yes, but when death occurs, you could also re spawn at the system with another checkpoint, that you're always transported to, first (primary), then you can do your business, and visit the checkpoint with the level you're trying to beat (secondary). Maybe a specific type of portal or type of spike trap can bring you to the secondary checkpoint. I thought this would be a more organized way to bring users to places, not saying that a single checkpoint in the game now, isn't at all.

#17 Re: Worlds » Calculator - An alternative to the hard coded portal one » 2015-03-27 20:29:10

TiKen, I apologize for rudely confronting you about my project. I just thought that you didn't enjoy my calculator, and that made me feel like deleting the topic, because you were right. Everything inside the calculator was based off of portals. This was the only way I knew how to make the calculator. This example of the calculator using switches as well, was excellent and definitely proved me wrong. I'm sorry for replying to you in that topic with a negative intent. All I wanted was for people to see this simple math tool that I created in 10 days. Despite the hard coded aspect, did you like it?

Have people forgotten the mute command or something? If words are ever used in such an immature manor to other people, they can just mute the offensive users and ignore all their insults/rude comments with swear words.

A game all about colours and paint! First, collect 9 pieces of each colour scattered across the map inside mines, and complete a challenge with the corresponding colour keys to hit a switch. The switches unlock platforms that are required for beating a cloud boss. This map took me three days to make.

Features:
- Small Passcode with 5 characters.
- A checkpoint transferring system.
- Roll-playing style of game.

I hope you enjoy the map and make sure you woot if you think it deserves one. The link is: www.http://everybodyedits.com/games/PWQzUREby3bkI
