I used the "Sharpen" filter on the image in Paint.NET for slightly better clarity:

edit: Try opening the images in new tabs (use context menu) and zoom out to make them feel less blurry. For me, it's easier to see the smileys and text that way. Also I forgot about the first image, but it almost surely has antennae and blue wings.

Took us a while to come up with a new style for EE!, a few tests and stuff
Looking back at the first draft of the default smiley to the finalised one, I can see how the style evolvedI think most of the team wanted to try HD first and see how that would turn out. The tests we did with our new artists turned out really good!! Our main smiley artist is EXTREMELY talented. I love her work.
The block artist is really good too.
Vector graphics are hard to get right without making them look "same-y." It's a really niche skill I think! So I'm really happy that our graphics don't really look same-y. It's awesome. But yeah, at first it was an experiment, but then we stuck with it because, not to lie to you, things turned out really well in terms of look and style.

Wow, I heard a rumor from a source who wishes to stay unknown about 2 months ago that there are discussions about 2K buying GGRiD. Apparently certain aspects of EE would go very well in Borderlands and NBA 2K games, but GGRiD actually owns these things, so 2K is just gonna buy the company outright and test the waters by making the new EE Borderlands inspired. I didn't think it was true, but apparently it is. It's really cool that EE will be paired with such a huge franchise!

I finally listened to the music and wow, I really like scarletskies. The track is around 100 BPM, and I think it's in F Minor. The main chord progression seems to go F minor, B♭ minor, C minor, then E♭ minor(?) which suddenly borrows from a Phrygian or Locrian scale if I'm right about this. The idea.mp3 version's intro is about 16 seconds before it syncs up with the preview version. The preview.mp3 version also goes on a further 17 seconds, so we have around 56 seconds of total of the track so far.

Basic yellow block confirmed
Musearys responded with this to a suggestion of an "actual yellow" Basic block. The yellow matches the yellow found in Nature Pack's flowers, and it doesn't seem to be a hue shift of the red block, which suggests it's the actual current texture used.

Not sure and I don't really want to make any promises, we'll see how it's implemented though!
Might use "nearest equivalent" depending on what blocks they are, if you don't have them unlocked. Might temporarily allow those blocks to be used only for the import, might have a totally separate set of blocks exclusive to legacy-imported worlds. I dunno yet, to be honest! Not really much of a priority atm though

I finally finished my updated graphics compilation (not including the sand blocks):
I added a few pixels of the background that I missed next to the Bunny Smiley.
edit: It should be noted that I don't know where the fenceless red flowers go on a grid, since there's no grid to compare them to. I'd think they're either positioned like the yellow flowers (two empty columns on left side) or the fenced red flowers (no empty columns on left side).
edit 2: Made a version with sand blocks as well. With this much space, I made both the smileys align to the grid as well!

Definitely. I think the default zoom will be 2x, but I'm not too sure yet! We'll see how it actually looks. Might also depend on your resolution, because if you have a 5k display, a 32x32 smiley and block will look too tiny

I wanna make a similar style of music for something we're doing after EE. The problem is that the style, while it sounds simple in that track, is actually super complex
Despite being a full orchestra, it sounds "small" -- you can nearly count just how many trumpets there are, how many flutes, violins... You can hear absolutely every instrument.
The brass in particular is something I'm trying to replicate

[The desert block having jagged borders, creates an "invisible wall" between the player and the graphic.
EE gameplay is highly precise, it would be an unforgivable issue to not be able to see where the block´s hitbox starts.

Yeah, exactly! Most our smileys have 12 or so colours, usually less, sometimes a tiny bit more. But Unicorn is the only smiley with 15+ colours I think
I'll check the count, I think it was 18, and that's the only smiley that has anything past 15 colours
