Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

But not if the world has been edited recently.
Hello! I've been playing ee for a while, and like giving input!

But have an option so the world owner can disable / enable this? (off by default).

I just remembered I once suggested this idea:
https://forums.everybodyedits.com/viewt … p?id=38893
which serves a similar function. (It was also pointed out that there are other threads of a similar idea).

This should really be added, very useful. I always lose connection when I play worlds and it's very annoying.
I have some suggestions:
The owner of the world should be able to enable and disable it in the settings. So what Devlin said
When enabling saving progress, the owner cannot edit the world anymore until disabling it. This is because when someone makes progress in your level, and leaves. And you edit some parts. When the player comes back he/she may be stuck on a block because you edited that part. God mode is still allowed.
Commands won't really break anything. Only /giveedit and /removeedit is disabled.
When disabling saving progress, everyone's saved progress will be removed (not current progress ofc). So when they come back they just have to start again.
The text box to enter the edit key is replaced with text. Something like "This world saves your progress. Getting edit is not possible."

Not much...
How many finished worlds do you play in 24 hours? Just a few hundred bytes per player, per world should be enough to store everything needed, so maybe a few kilobytes (I guess about one medium world ish) per player at any one time

Unity doesn't have anything to do with this.

Well surely storage space won't be much of an issue with Unity?

Is EE currently low on DB space? I thought the main storage issue was the max size of... something or other in the Rooms datatable, which limits the max world size.
Aren't PlayerObjects free to grow? I assume that's where progress data would go. Saving locally would be a terrible idea.
One bot to rule them all, one bot to find them. One bot to bring them all... and with this cliché blind them.

Unity is just for the client, I'm pretty sure we'll still be using playerio.

@skullz: yeah. If you recall, nou or someone was making a big show of how we needed playerIO to play nicely for the project to continue. Naturally, if we ditched playerio, that wouldn't be a concern.

So they made the PlayerObjects table different from the rest? I'm guessing they're all on the 500kb pieces thing. I mean if we ever wanted more room and that was the only limit, we could just fragment our storage across keys, but that's probably not wise.
But yeah, I imagine the playerobject would have more room for this.
