Welcome to Mafia 31!

Rules:

1. Respect everyone, it's just a game, don't be a jerk.
2. Do not gamethrow. Play your role to win even if it seems dire, you never know what might happen.
3. Only discuss the game in this thread, or threads I assign to you.
4. Dead men tell no tales. Please use the graveyard thread if you have been eliminated.
5. Make all night actions via PM to me.
6. Don't use the mod text color please.
7. Try to post at least once every 24 hours.
8. Days will last 72 hours, nights will last 24 hours.
9. If you break the rules I will be rather ornery.
10. Have fun!

The setup:

You thought that nothing in your little village could go wrong. Sure, there were a few unsavoury people around, but what town doesn't? Things were going fine. Until one morning, you left your house, and were perplexed to discover that there was two of everything! Looking to the left of your house, you saw your house, or at least what looked like your house! As everyone emerged from their houses, it was surprising to find that there was also double the number of people! But you couldn't recognise anyone, not the seven from your town, not the seven from the ersatz town that arrived overnight, and certainly not the mysterious drifter that seemed to be from both universes and neither at the same time...

Lynching rules:
Each day the highest lynch target from each universe with the most votes are eliminated.
If there is a tie in one of the universes at the end of the day, the result will be a nolynch scenario for that universe.
All votes can be added/removed until the deadline.

You are the Mafia Universe Cop. You are in universe [?]. Your teammate is [?]. You may communicate at any time in this Private Chat: [?].

Each night, as a team you may kill another player in the game, however, this will only succeed if that player is in your universe.
You will win when all of the members of the town in your universe are dead.

Mafia Backup Alpha/Omega:

You are the Mafia Backup. You are in universe [?]. Your teammate is [?]. You may communicate at any time in this Private Chat: [?].
In the case that your teammate dies, you will gain their ability.
Each night, as a team you may kill another player in the game, however, this will only succeed if that player is in your universe.
You will win when all of the members of the town in your universe are dead.

Town Universe Cop Alpha/Omega:

You are the Town Universe Cop. You are in universe [?].
Every night, you may discover which universe a player is in.
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Town Faction Cop Alpha/Omega::

You are the Town Faction Cop. You are in universe [?].
Every night, you may discover which faction a player is in. [Town/Mafia]
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Town Mason Alpha/Omega:

You are the Town Mason. You are in universe [?].
You have the ability to communicate through secret channels with the Town Mason in the other universe here: [?]
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Town Vanilla Alpha/Omega:

You are a Town Vanilla. You are in universe [?].
While you don't have any special abilities, you have the power of your voice and your vote. And the second best flavour of icecream!
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Town Vanilla Alpha/Omega:

You are a Town Vanilla. You are in universe [?].
While you don't have any special abilities, you have the power of your voice and your vote. And the second best flavour of icecream!
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Drifter:

You are the Drifter. You do not belong to either universe, but float between them.
Every night you will choose a universe to belong to temporarily. For all purposes of votes, mafia kills, and cop checks, you will be affected by your choice. You're an affable person and will always appear to be "Town" when checked by a cop. You cannot be lynched Day 1.
You will win if you survive to the end of the game.

Game End:
When a universe concludes its game (either by all town or all mafia dying), those players will be removed, and the remaining players will continue until their game concludes.

nothing in the shadowsedge discussion makes me feel the need to vote for them yet, but Anatoly's universe claim is pretty sketchy. If he is town, then it would be smart for mafia to get the guaranteed town kill, and if he is mafia, he has nothing to lose by universe claiming. If 100% of us manage to vote for him, that means that we are giving no information to the mafia about other people's universes, and thus people who stick votes on random targets might be scum, as they could be mafia trying to deduce people's universes. Maybe I'm missing something here but imo an Anatoly lynch makes the most sense rn

i really can't see how universe claiming helps literally anyone other than mafia. alpha already killed off anatoly and andymakeer, and know that peace is alpha as well. You claiming really either means you're scum or trying to confuse people, but i don't understand the incentive in doing the latter when you weren't being targeted

also as other people have pointed out pls no metagaming it ruins the point of the game

suspecting me for inactivity is fair, but how was my vote sus? since people didn't unvote anatoly or peace, alpha mafia now knows that they are both alpha and got 2 easy targets (which they already acted on with anatoly). I was trying to unvote my target to prevent mafia from getting any more information on people's universe.

As much of a headache as peace's posts are to read, i still trust him more than kira that he is alpha vanilla town right now.

He's not claiming alpha universe cop, it's just that there are about 382 run on sentences and 383 typos in his post so it's really hard to follow

as far as i'm concerned, kira claimed alpha vanilla town for seemingly no reason, and peace, a confirmed alpha member, counterclaimed. I also trust kira's ability to deceive people more than peace's, so my vote on kira will remain

from what i can gather, his post is basically saying "I have nothing to lose by counterclaiming you, since i'm already a target to the mafia because my universe was revealed. I would've even counterclaimed you if you claimed alpha cop and i actually was one, since the target is already on my back I have nothing to lose"

the second part was stupid and confusing to add on, but he didn't claim alpha cop

But why does peace wants to counterclaim Kira lol, it makes no sense at all

- Kira claims Vanilla townie
- There is only 1 vanilla townie spot left. If someone counterclaims, that means kira is lying
- Kira claiming universe is suspicious in the first place - it either puts a target on his back for the alpha mafia, or adds unnecessary confusion into the game
- Only 1 person died D1, and they were alpha. Peace had votes, that means that he is also alpha
- Since Peace is already confirmed alpha, his counterclaim holds more weight than kira's original claim, so kira lied for some reason - possibly because he's alpha mafia - only one way to find out

post 1 does not feel like a strategic hint nearly as much as "I'm backed in a corner, I have no other option." If you were peace, would you have claimed drifter? if kira was omega cop what reason would he have to claim alpha vanilla town in the first place?

post 2 is just a dumb response to what i considered a pretty reasonable post. Once kira saw that he was almost pretty much guaranteed to get lynched he could've explained that he was omega cop and shared the results of his investigations... but he didn't. Waiting for you to propose the possibility doesn't really make me trust him any more

i stand by everything that ive said in regards to kira and in response to jawapa and dont really have anything to add. Since it seems inevitable im getting lynched, i guess ill claim - i am alpha right now. If neither kira nor jawapa die along with me, they are alpha mafia buddies

i am drifter

i chose alpha today because i knew mafia would target anatoly or peace since they were confirmed alpha

i doubt enough people will be online in the next 2 hours to change majority, so i guess i'll say i'm pretty convinced kira and jawapa are mafia buddies, and i get the impression that mutant might be mafia from a different universe and may have suspected that i was drifter.

because i'm a threat to both mafias and would've had it pretty safe for a while, since a lot of people were having their universes being confirmed i wouldn't have been much of a mafia target. since my win condition is to stay alive until the end the longer my role is hidden to the mafia the better
