EElections Debate Thread

Please only debate here if you are participating in the EElections. I'm just quickly making this thread to put all the debates between candidates in so just go crazy really. This may become more structured later on but for now this is just general debating between candidates regarding the elections. You can still debate in the main thread but this one may have a bit of organization behind it for special events and stuff.

You fail to consider the confusion that a name change creates for the other players. It's very confusing when you suddenly see a new name on your friends list. I really think there should be an easier way of identifying who they are (or were, I suppose).

On the contrary, I had thought of this, which is why I suggested the imposition of time. Though incorporating Onjit's idea, I do believe a maximum of 3 changes (and no more) should be sufficient. Surely we have all had a time where we made an account with a cringeworthy name when we were a child, and wanted to change it when we were older. This change should not come at the expense of players money.

If a small country was to be full of murderers, should let them be? The country already has a small, dwindling population. If any action were to be taken, it would crush the country.

Unlike most games which run on a governmental moderation system, EE thrives on vigilantism. Players are already equipped with sufficient tools to combat trolls (save level/load level/give god/remove god/give edit/remove edit/kick...) Need I go on? We should not be pressuring moderators to take care of all the little problems, but rather be teaching the user base their own self defense.

Please, elaborate. Keep in mind, when a staff is bigger/stronger than the people it is ruling over, the risk of totalitarianism lurks.

Updates are few and far between. A larger staff could benefit to more content and faster game development.

I think you hit the nail right on the head with this one. With the 400 dig bots, there was no choice but to replay a level... they were all the same! You could, in fact, enjoy the level... time... and time... and time... again.

Besides DigBot there are many other notable bots such as Snake Bot, Yo Scroll, Bombot etc... Furthermore, if you dislike bot assisted levels no one is forcing you to play them, but they have come to form their own community which I think can be appreciated in their own way.

But, it's not fair to give one person an award, and not the others. Everyone in the contest tried their very best, and some walked away with nothing to show.

As vain as it may sound, that is the purpose of any contest. Upon signing up users were meant to understand that not everyone was going to win. That being said, even those who didn't win an official reward, still had the reward of a well built level.

You cannot offer things for money. It is unfair to those who cannot afford it.

If everything was free the game would make no money. I believe it is fair to charge money for objects so long as the money goes toward keeping the game running. Now, whether or not the staff should be making a profit off that money is a different issue entirely.

I disagree. I think a vote-to-ban system should be put in place. If someone is being a nuisance, and the community votes them out... they are banned.

A larger staff is harder to manage. Nou (the totalitarian) can't even manage the current staff. He's resorted to slowly kicking members out, so that he can have all the power. What we really need is a democracy. Get Nou out of there, and vote a new leaders in; ones we can trust.

No one is forcing me to play, but I have no other option.

I've been in this game for five years and let me tell you, I've experienced and seen lots of things change, lots of things being removed and lots of things being created, I've seen a lot of people come and leave. Your points are clear, but your terminology is lacking. That being said, I must disagree with the latter of your arguments. To say that all new players are 'immigrants' is a gross generalization. Just because some players have joined EE at a later date does not mean they have migrated from one gaming community to another, nor should it make them any lesser of a player. I also aruge the 'veteran' players, as you put it, already have sufficient privileges that that the new players do not. You've had more time to acquire items for levels, you've had more time to build a reputation for yourself, and more time to form an opinion on the value of a quality level. New players have few items, few friends, and often face discrimination for not understanding what to do. This is completely unacceptable.

Filthy immigrants, I said it correctly, that's what they are. These immigrants are inferior to us, the veterans, in all aspects. They have not mastered their skills playing or creating as much as we have, and they need to learn the hard way.

If I don't like it, I change it, I'm not going to leave the nation that I helped build and watch how it burns, if they can't integrate to our culture, they're the ones who have to go.

Hello my username is Zumza and with your votes I will become the EE President. I am a programmer, I have knowledges about how things work. I believe this gives me an advantage ahead of my political colleagues.
I consider that Everybody Edits must be a friendly place where everybody comes to have fun. I want everybody be able to speak freely. Chat should be free!
This game must encourage the idea that everybody is equal but those who work with passion must be celebrated. Text should be available for everybody! Contest winners should have exclusive content!
I consider that moderators can never be off-duty. I also believe that rules are well made and moderators must take actions on those who present offensive behaviour. However trolling shouldn't be an act of crime. We can't be utopian. Everybody should have responsibilities. And the world owners should act like Gods. World owners should be able to kick moderators.
Also staff members shouldn't do favours for their relatives. The shop system is functional as it is now, daily bonuses exists. Name changes should cost gems. Thought some prices should be modified(to smaller and / or grater values).
Bots are wonderful, and what people can do with them is amazing! Everybody can have a more dynamic experience.
There should be added easier campaigns too. We should have diversity in everything!
We must keep improving but without damaging the core of this game!

I think every player should have more freedom and more possibilities. I want people to get most from this game.

Hello everyone

So i have decided to read out how my opponents have anwsered the issues. I was quite shocked at some of the anwsers i found.

Most of what is here seems to allign with my anwsers, but i found these:

Should more easy difficulty campaigns be introduced to the campaign roster to balance game difficulty?
Campaigns should be removed entirely. 
Should exclusive smileys be made available again through new opportunities?
Exclusive smileys should not be unavailable forever.  Any seasonal smiley should come back every time that season comes back, and any other smiley should periodically return as well.

Wait what? Campaigns should be removed entirely?
And the fact that by requesting rare items to be available to everyone, sounds a bit unfair to people who played since 2011 or something. And i find it quite ironic how you said this:

Answers are a bit vague with no real explanation. Also i found a few details:

Are there too many staff members? Why do we need staff members.
Should the shop be more easily accessible to new players with discounts and bonuses? tbh all players should receive everything for free.
Should staff be more seriously reprimanded for giving away free items at no personal expense? Staff sucks, let EE be free.
Should the rules be made more lenient than they are today? Rules are a trouble, let the game light.

This is a weird anti-staff policy Creature. I dedicate to freedom as well, but with so much power and little rules or staff, EE is gonna be a lot less nice and spam/troll/jerk free.

I suppose you have trouble reading. Let me break my answer down for you:
"Oh yes," - Absolute, no doubt, they are great, the opposite of no.
"the 400 dig bots made the game 10 times better" - Well you see, you take the original enjoyment of the game, and multiply it by ten. That's what dig bots did for me.

You're not even arguing anything for yourself. You're actually destroying your own campaign by telling people to go watch Calicara.
