Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Finally got to updating this to use Base64 as Zumza suggested, and indeed now the maximum file size that can be stored in a 600x400 has increased from 14,4MB to 21,6MB!
Note that the newest version is NOT compatible with files stored using version 1.0 of the program, so if you want to recover any files made prior to this release, please use the older version.
Everyone remembers Everybody Edits Universe, the precursor of EE! that was ultimately scrapped. If you didn't know already, the EEU servers are somehow still up and running after 3 WHOLE YEARS of the game being discontinued. The game is obviously dead, and with the new EE remakes that were created this year we can officially say EEU is useless.
This is a bot for EE Universe that allows you to store and read files right into and from your unused EEU worlds!, reusing this game for free cloud storage! This is done by writing the bytes of a file into signs in the world. If you still are able to login into EEU through Google (since Facebook login stopped working a while ago), feel free to give this a go!
There is a caveat to this though, that being this is not very useful storage. A sign can store up to 120 characters, and using Base64 to store the data of a file, we can store up to 90 bytes in a sign. The biggest world ever given in this game is a 600x400 iirc, so by doing some math we can see that the max number of bytes you can store in a world is 600 * 400 * 90 which is 21,600,000 bytes, or 26,6 megabytes, which is... not alot. I guess it's good enough for storing some images or a small executable, or 8 copies of DOOM (1993).
If you want to try this out, you can find the downloads and a tutorial on how to use it here: https://github.com/ExFabian/EEU-File-Storage
Shoutouts to EEJesse who made the EEU Library for C# and luciferx for writing the EEU Protocol (which I had to search on archive.org since the website doesn't exist anymore as of today)
ee in the past was like "the game is dead no one will ever remake it" now we have like 5 remakes competing at once and statistically at least 3 more i haven't even heard of yet
ee is still dead, it's just the same 100 people who keep this game from getting buried, of which 80 just dwell around either making or playing high effort eeo worlds from time to time
most people call themselves "ee veterans" but they wouldn't hop in to a round of boss to code...
Damn, is 2024 going to be the year of Everybody Edits?

just joining the discord server and muting every channel besides the announcement channel is the same thing but with no more bloatDiscord, not bloated? Then why do I get random popups to buy Nitro, or fiddle with my username? And why are all sorts of wacky animations and reactions that have nothing to do with EE, and are an excuse for Discord to sell stuff to me? These forums are much more accessible, and performance-friendly than leaving Discord open in the background.
Yes, you can get notifications from Discord. But if you go idle for a few minutes, there's a chance you'll miss it. And if you check every time you leave, that just consumes more time than spending a few minutes a day reading forum posts.
Also, this website has an RSS feed.
Discord is a popular option for hosting announcements since first of all a lot of people already use it to talk with other people for example, and second of all it has much better organized channels and rules and stuff compared to the forums. I see that this can be annoying for people that don't want to use discord but still want to receive updates and I understand, however you're sadly a very small minority. It is not hard at all to post announcements on this thread too though, so maybe John will keep you updated here too. (Or even better - just make the announcements show up in-game too, like with the News tab with flash EE)
The useful stuff is stuck on Discord, with nobody bothering to link it on the forums. Sadly the norm at this point.

I have been thinking about this a lot, and at the moment I cannot decide whether or not to open source the code. If I ever did get to a point where there was online play, I think open sourcing the game would encourage hackers like it did in the original client. If I ever stop working on this and the code is not in use on some multiplayer client, I'll probably open source it. I might open source it before that happens also, but I'll need to think about it more.
Yea, you don't have to release the source code if you don't want to, especially if you plan to have online features in the future. I'm really looking forward to it!
I tried once to port EE Offline to the 3DS using devKitPro (which uses C/C++) but I couldn't manage to get the physics right and it got banished to my limbo of unfinished projects. This project is looking really promising, and maybe when it's done you could let me use your code to finish my port?
The HTTP certificate has now been updated as of today.

Turns out that the HTTP certificate for the everybodyedits.com website expired 2 days ago, and you can't connect to the website anymore. It seems the owners forgot to update the certificate for this year, which is a bit concerning regarding the development.
UPDATE: As of the 9th, the HTTP certificate has been updated and you can access the website.
fr where is the shop update I want to show off the new cool blocks I bought with the other 2 people that have access to the game

You know this pic on the Everybody Edits website? Apparently, Boba made it! And shared with me the world.
If you're expecting a big world, don't get too excited. There's just a little more dirt and grass, plus some more arrows and a platform which I assume is for the camera smiley.
idk why but this feels as important as finding the pack.png minecraft seed
The latest info I know about EE! is from 14.07.2022, when Musearys mentioned that EE! crashes within a minute it begins showing things on screen (https://discordapp.com/channels/7904750 … 3370816632).
Can you please point me to when / where the claim that the game is done and only the lobby system remains has been made?
i didn't say that the lobby system is the only thing remaining to be developed, i said that it is one of the things not made yet, also yeah i completely forgot about the renderer message, but (again assuming the game is being worked on) it should've been fixed until now. there's a high chance ee! is actually playable right now, albeit in an alpha or even prealpha state

i hope we get a new community tbh.
silksong community has been waiting patiently
speaking of, what do we think is gonna come out first, EE! or silksong ?
i'm betting on silksong, EE! (assuming this thread is not true, a man can dream) should be about in the middle of its development, because one of the last things we heard about the game was that the lobby system wasn't fully functional yet, and while silksong has been delayed, a playable from start-to-finish build of the game was probably already made. Unless they shadow drop EE! or something (please don't) silksong has a much higher chance of being released first.
good day to you sir
i look once everyday to see if anyone has posted something new
you just have to recreate the image and make the rest of your level using your imagination to play it smh
for the last year I have been going to the everybodyedits.com site everyday hoping something would change but it never did
