Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Who’s “we”?
One bot to rule them all, one bot to find them. One bot to bring them all... and with this cliché blind them.

Looks impressive anyway.

ee in the past was like "the game is dead no one will ever remake it" now we have like 5 remakes competing at once and statistically at least 3 more i haven't even heard of yet

ee is still dead, it's just the same 100 people who keep this game from getting buried, of which 80 just dwell around either making or playing high effort eeo worlds from time to time
most people call themselves "ee veterans" but they wouldn't hop in to a round of boss to code...

Did you port the physics from the Flash source? They're very accurate to how I remember the original physics. Well done.

Thank you! The physics engine in Escapade was written from the grounds up with the goal of preserving a similar game-play experience to EE. We had a few bugs of our own along the way, but with the help of community feedback we quickly identified and patched them. Ott was the MVP in this aspect! <3
One important mechanic feature Escapade has is the no-delay auto-jump. (We might make this an opt-in feature depending on what the community prefers).
I recommend this world (https://escapade.fun/world/k7HGKbwFnbVr) if you want to see how fun that is!
Also, here is a world that comprises most of the known EE gimmicks to make an even better idea of how close Escapade's physics are to EE.

4 hours ago something has happened to our server provider OVH. At the moment, as OVH has not informed us of anything - I don’t know what’s the issue and when it will be resolved. Unfortunately, our latest backup is from 7th January 2025 and we might have to resume to that.

I do have to wonder about the future of this game, since PixelWalker is more popular and has much better performance.
Are there any plans to export the worlds if the game goes down?
Offline
N1KF, I believe you're asking about this due to the incident caused by OVH (our service provider), which led to the temporary unavailability of the game.
I apologise for not updating the situation on this forum.
We restored functionality within 72 hours of the incident by using a relatively recent backup (3 days old by the time the incident occurred), though this could have been done even sooner if I hadn’t initially hoped OVH would address the situation more quickly. A week later, the data hosted on OVH became available again, allowing us to merge the data and fully restore all progress related to campaign progression and world building.
Regarding performance, the differences should theoretically be negligible. However, we are aware of certain quirks with Firefox, particularly on Linux-based operating systems, caused by the browser not accessing hardware acceleration features, and we're committed to addressing these issues in upcoming updates. Right now, I can only recommend you to use an updated Safari or a Chromium-based browser like: Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, DuckDuckGo Browser.
Currently, the project development is on hold. However, I have communicated my availability to assist Josh, the maintainer of EEOffline, in developing a better file format to support all EE-like games. Additionally, I’ve offered to help PixelWalker’s team create a tool for porting worlds from Escapade to PixelWalker.
I assure you, Escapade is highly unlikely to close in 2025, as it remains the only multiplayer web client that enables the community to re-experience campaign levels with physics closest to the original EE. PixelWalker has taken a different approach.
Regarding popularity, I’m not entirely sure how the two projects compare in terms of monthly active users, but I don’t believe the difference is significant. From what I’ve observed, Escapade is the preferred choice for many members of the community, primarily due to the availability of campaign content.
I hope this answers your concerns.
