Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Pointless comment.

Repeating suggestions is pointless.
Same suggestions over and over, never any real input from the staff.
It feels like we're just keeping ourselves busy with pointless threads.

EE is not an RPG.

This is not true, and I hope we'll see that claim less in the future. In reality, EE is not not an RPG; notice the double negative. EE is a sandbox game. This means players are free to choose how they want to approach the game. There can be all kinds of RPG settings in EE. One example is a fictional school class, where the players assume the role of students, move around and use the chat to give answers to (dis)obey a teacher. Another example are elaborate interactive quests, where signs provide a narrative and players make decisions that develop their characters. There can be in-game loot that players collect, players can 'trade' coins to obtain better equipment, the player character's abilities/power can change after obtaining additional action effects, there can be puzzles, fictional combat, and so on. The game is perfectly suitable to (re)create RPG settings.

"No" is not an argument. At best it is an appeal to emotion. You're wasting everyone's time with such a response. I see that N1KF took the time to ask you for an explanation, but we could've just as well ignored you as toddler who's having a tantrum. If it's meant to be this meme, you failed at being funny.

Landmines

Kingfdamt6579, this suggestion might have potential. Something like: the smiley that first touches it will die after moving/jumping away from the block, but other smilies can pass freely while another player is on the landmine. Could introduce a new kind of teamwork.

This is somewhat similar to this suggestion:

Poisonous clouds, radioactivity, etc.

Report is another option, but if I report it then it'll just be moved and fewer people will notice and learn about the difference between these two boards.

Yes, not enough players tried it, so I decided to delete and lock the level.
I prefer it to not exist over it existing with no players.
This thread can be locked.

Similar to what maxi123 writes, there could be a badge that you get if your smiley touches an admin/mod.

Rage Quit Central

The minis are of medium difficulty.
However, lots of spikes and lava, and no checkpoints.

It does not matter how you change "Enable minimap in lobby" (and other options), it's always checked when you return.

[Edit: Oh, okay, apparently this was already reported in the past.]

#14 Re: Off Topic Discussion » The most beautiful Pokemon picture » 2016-05-03 14:17:22

Insanity, your post currently includes an animated GIF of a man who commits suicide by burning himself and falling from a building's window. It's unclear to me why you included it, maybe in the hopes that other forum visitors will think you are funny or cool. I personally think it would be better not to include things like that; it doesn't serve a real purpose and its macabre nature does not improve the overall forum atmosphere.

[Edit: I see you already changed it.]

It's a bot though; it's spam that's meant to include a link to the holawallpaper website.
I'll report the post to the mods.

Lava should always be local, curse/zombie can be toggled in world options.

The point of the toggle is that people can want people to all die at the same time. (I doubt it.)

btw ipwner asked me to ask for local curse so

I don't understand what you are trying to say.
I've re-read what you wrote several times, but I still don't understand it.
You write "curse/zombie can be toggled in world options"; yes, those can be limited.
Do you want to limit lava deaths in some way?
What do you mean by local lava as opposed to server-side lava?

Short description please

Here's a summary. It's a story that was posted to reddit.com/r/nosleep/ by someone who claims to be a college student named Evan Midlock. He posted the story from his school's library, because he's too afraid to use his own computer. In the story he writes what happened with this computer. He installed pirated software on it, including Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, a game he owned when he was younger but could no longer play after a relative's dog had broken the console. Apparently, the pirated software came with a virus that starts causing more and more problems. On its own, the computer starts making loud noises and displays things that triggers his epilepsy. He asks his room mate Joe to remove the virus. It doesn't work, country music starts looping, and then the computer says "LolliScan" and "You Can't Undo What You've Done". He brought the computer to a shop to get it fixed, but even though he didn't tell the repairman where he lives, the computer suddenly ends up on his doorstep with a post-it note that said "You Can't Undo What You've Done". The repairman called him: their store was broken into and only this computer was stolen. His computer still makes noises sometimes, even though it appears to be turned off.

URL the "I" at the end. Here's a working one:

It's nice to see that someone extensively used ice for a level and used it well.
I'm normally not a fan of arrow paths, but they make sense here and, again, you used them well.
Nice locations for the blue coins. Enough checkpoints, at locations that make sense.
A good difficulty curve: it gets a bit harder later in the level, but nothing crazy.
It doesn't take long to finish the level, but it's quite enjoyable overall, nice work.

#22 Re: Game Discussion » ...times you enjoy(ed) EE the most » 2016-04-26 04:33:32

I enjoyed EE the most when I had first discovered it.
Being able to easily build a 2D platform level and then see other people play it instantly.
Back then it was enough to simply stay in your level, you'd get players for days.

I also enjoyed beating certain levels.
Winning in and of itself, but also to show off (the win system message or a screenshot) and to get a better playing-reputation among peers.
Not just really difficult levels: it's also fun to join a crowded minigames level and then get a win system message before everyone else.

I also remember fondly the updates with new action blocks.
Coin doors had such a major positive impact on the game.
The checkpoints with hazards, similar thing. Portals.

Kira wrote:

Do you think Everybodyedits has its chance to become popular amongst all of the other games?

The number of platform games on Steam is roughly 700. The number of platform games on Steam with multiplayer roughly 70. Then if you look at such games that allow for user-generated levels, you are at roughly 7. There's almost no competition. Most of those 7 aren't even any good; not cross-platform either. There are plenty of games with user-generated content, but not all allow users to create levels, and almost none of these games are multiplayer platformers. Very few multiplayer platformers allow more than four players per level. EE really is quite unique, it stands out from the rest, which might be one of the reasons it will become popular amongst all of the other games.

Yeah, daily challenges have already been suggested, for example during the recent EElections here, but it would be a nice addition to the game.
