Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Hey there everyone!
I'm very sorry to announce this, but I cannot continue on the staff team.
This is nothing to do with any of the staff members I truly adore each and every one of them!
This is due to my personal life and my future. I don't feel like elaborating too much about this. The staff team however do know the reasoning. If they feel like elaborating I will not mind at all if they do so.
First of all thank you Xenonetix for the opportunity to be a part of the team. I hope I contributed enough and gave my part to promote EEU 1 step forward.
Let me thank also the development team, Priddle, John and Keztek. Before I joined I didn't realise this too much but everyone has a life, and the development of the game is basically voluntary. Considering that, you have no idea the amazing amount of work each of them does
Moving on to the moderation team, Mutantdevle, Minimania, Capasha, ShiningBlade and LRussell, which do an absolutely amazing job at keeping the game friendly and enforcing the rules
Our musicians, RavaTroll, NeonSynth and Satanya, who make absolutely amazing music and songs for the game which I absolutely enjoy listening to every time someone posts something new, makes it so much fun
And to our campaign/world curators Master1 and Triamlo which do their best so the community will have amazing worlds and campaigns to play, and keep the game more entertaining!
And of course thank you, the community, all so very much. There would never have been a point to continue if it wasn't for all of you! As much as you don't see it right now, I personally couldn't ask for a better team than those people

I guess my journey here is over. I will not be able to continue not as a staff member and not as an active member of the community.
Fare well

Just because you've published a game online and don't update it doesn't mean you lose ownership.

I don't think you quite understand legally how this works. I could create a game similar to Minecraft, even using quite a lot of their assets and publish it, and I could get away with it easily. How? Here's a list of conditions:
- I do not license the game (copyright)
- I do not get revenue from the game
- I do not claim to own any of the stolen assets (Which EE/EEO certainly doesn't claim to own them)
- I do not deliberately advertise my game on any Minecraft related platform in the aim to "steal" players from the original game.

This way, Microsoft can hire the best, most expensive lawyers and wouldn't be able to do anything.

The same happened with EE btw. How many remakes have there been? Lots. None of them were illegal (unless any of then had gained income which I highly doubt)

An offline version called EEO will arrive.

eh... lol

Well, it did

not in the public eye, only people that has access to EEU (and patron) can at the moment.
Most likely it will never release to the public in the end...

Idk what it is you're talking about, the fact EEO is public in the EEU server it kind of means it's released to public no?
It's not like we can stop people from posting it elsewhere
But even if it were accessible only in the EEU discord, what makes you think it'll never be released officially for public?

1) Did I made that graphics? No.
2) Was Nintendo going to figure out about EEO anyway? Yes

Go try sue me, it would be easier than suing Nintendo right?
I dare the staff to try to sue me because they think I tried to savotage the game.

I has been with the game all this time, the staff is really having as a detrimental behaviour as they think I do, the staff should truly start to look to their behaviour because it is not doing any well to the game reputation.

The staff is so incapacitated and undisciplined to run the game that it would not be surprise they mess up the only job they had, to keep the game alive.

Go try blame the community, that would be the EE staff ultimate fault.
Go try blame me, that would be stupid, unnecesary and a potential defamation.

You keep blaming us the staff, and you keep saying that we aren't doing stuff right, and that we are blaming the community
Open your damn eyes. Noone here supports your actions

The problem with many people is that they skip words, you skipped the word COULD.
And don´t be so prideful, there will be future developers/staff team that migh make that happen.

I never skipped any word. The word "could" means it might happen, whilst noone has ever considered even publishing EEO on steam nor porting it to JS. Saying that just gives the wrong impression that such a thing might happen, while it won't.

EEO could be available for free on Steam or other digital stores. Once it gets ported to JavaScript it can also be available on the same web portals EE is on already. If it got submitted to one of Nintendo's digital stores, they'd probably notice.

Who the **** ever said anything about publishing EEO to steam or porting it to js?

Approach to Nintendo to redress the wrongs of the past.

I adore the way you try to blame the staff for your actions.
Seriously now, EEO would never have been a problem if you waited for EE to shutdown. EEO is not licensed, not copyrighted, hell it might even be open source, but most importantly it's not profitable.
But because EE is still a thing, then all the three (EE, EEO and EEU) are endangered.

Y'all are some dreamers if you really think Nintendo gives two **** about EE.

But yes. I agree with jawapa that most likely they don't give 2 **** about a 5 player game

The game wouldn't be designed to be fun

Games are ALWAYS designed to be fun, if there is a game that is designed to be boring, then it is not a game at all.

This statement is 100% true.
Whether the people who own it intend for it to be profitable or not is no factor here.
If the goal is profit the game must be fun otherwise noone would want to spend money on it
If the goal is to have the players enjoy like EE/EEU then it must be fun or else nobody would play
In both cases if the game is not fun the goal is not met.

What mutantdevle wrote on the other hand, is also very true. No company would have any motive to buy a game if not to make profit. Whether if it's by adding ads, unlocking certain stuff for money, just some cosmetics, it doesn't matter. In business the motive for buying = making more money

The thing is, smileys might look round but they act as rectangles (or squares to be precise). There for I assume in such a case the smiley will just stay and "float" there, even though gravity suggests otherwise

You're optimistic I see.
The game won't be around for much longer. There hasn't been a tutorial for the last 10 years and I don't think anyone is abouta make one in the next couple of months that we have left

#12 Re: Debates » How thin would be smileys by side view if those were 3D? » 2020-10-10 14:29:12

But technically smileys are 26x26 so would it be 26x26x26 or 26x26x16
(Smileys started at 16x16, then 16x26 and now 26x26)

This smiley is 2d with no real depth.
But if you travel to EE world, would you still think that it has no depth?

Programmatically and graphically - the smiley (or any sprite in this matter) has no depth
There is a thing called z-index (aka layer) which determines what comes in front of what but there is no depth

#16 Re: Game Discussion » EE potential - What is actually EE » 2020-09-09 22:06:01

Actually no, I don't recall having a smiley selection in the first version of EE (or EE offline if you prefer, before playerIO came in the picture)

#17 Re: Game Discussion » EE potential - What is actually EE » 2020-09-09 21:44:26

**** are you talking about?
"Steve" is the main character of minecraft the same way as "Smiley" is the main character of EE.
Now you have different skins in MC like "Alex" and custom user-made skins. The same way in EE where you have different skins such as "Devil", "Bee", etc..

It will include classical items. All categories from the shop that count as blocks except for special ones (which i listed above)

I personally don't mind, I mean I agree to make them free.
Although I agree diamond shouldn't be given, I don't see a reason why cake or hologram really matters

#20 Re: Game Suggestions » To all you veterans out there. #GivePeopleBlocks » 2020-08-14 19:39:00

As gosha stated (assuming that'swhat he meant by special items), this won't include classical items. There are players who have paid money for these classical items, so it does make sense
Of course there are players who paid money (or gems) on regular items but these are items you can get for free using energy anyway, so I see no reason not to make them free, especially since EEO is supposedly so close. Might as well let players create some nice worlds before EE shuts down and so other players can download.

P.S. I too have most if not all shop items.
