Especially when it comes from the current staff.

I would had expected such a discreditation from Xeno but not you Mini.

Love might be a dangerous thing for a moderator. Love usually implies that you also accept and love all the defects one has to offer.

But in our case, I don't think it is ideal to love the community like that.

it wasn't because lurid left staff, but, from my understanding, it was because he said he wanted to kill the children on ee lol

the thing is you aren't known as a jokey type of person, it had bad timing, and was just in bad taste. personally, i was questioning whether it was a joke or not because i still know you as "the guy in the ee server who calls all teenage girls '****' and 'prostitutes'"

I've always believed you get out of this community what you look for in it. If you only focus on the toxicity then of course the community will seem toxic to you. But there are plenty of us that treasure the many more positive aspects of the community. If you find yourself surrounded by toxicity then, chances are, you're part of the problem. BUD is actually the first person (that I remember) who has made a sweeping statement along the lines of "this community is toxic/horrible" who I wouldn't consider being part of the problem such a statement is criticising. I suspect the reason for that is, as a moderator, you bare witness to the very worst the community has to offer. But unless you yourself are toxic, toxicity is not what dominates this community.

See, here's the thing — this doesn't apply only to you. Speaking personally here, I'm considered well-mannered by virtually everyone I know irl, and my only run-in with the law has been a 10$ fine I got from not paying for a bus ticket. Troublemaking is not my taste either; and I really doubt it's anyone else's too.

Boundaries break down on the internet, and people say/do things which they almost certainly never would irl. So just because you're a goodie two shoes offline doesn't mean you can't be a toxic bastard online. Stop deflecting, Lurid, you're really not better than anyone else here.

Lurid, why even be a moderator in the first place if you always hated the community? If you're so biased about the community being toxic, then of course you will lean more towards the community being toxic when you moderate.
I don't understand how are you a well-mannered person when you joke about homicide, it's not a fun thing to joke about. Even if it was an obvious joke, it's still a bad thing to joke about, and it's even more unacceptable considering you were a moderator.

How many reports does ee get regularly, and how much of that is harassment or flaming? Back in 2010-2012 when the game had thousands of active players it didn't even need in-game reports, just a single topic to report people. Things sure have changed a lot since then wow.

How many reports does ee get regularly, and how much of that is harassment or flaming? Back in 2010-2012 when the game had thousands of active players it didn't even need in-game reports, just a single topic to report people. Things sure have changed a lot since then wow.

I think it's a combination of the average age of EE players being older now than they used to be (hence the kinds of words used to insult each other is more frequently more offensive) as well as the fact that the community being much smaller means there's more opportunity for players to get to know and dislike each other - hence prompting hostile interactions when people who don't like each other join the same world which is also more likely due to there being less worlds to play.

And then the downside of being a moderator is that people like to let you know they're unhappy that they got banned - especially when they don't believe they were in the wrong or think who they were being horrible to deserved it.
