Allow everyone to view the edit history of a post.

The title says it all - basically if someone posts something, it would be nice if we can see their edit history.

Yeah we need this because someone could say something offensive and everyone gets mad at them, and then they could change their post to something innocent and it makes everyone look bad.
Or the reverse, they say something that a bunch of people agree with, they get a bunch of woots, and then they change their post to something offensive, and it makes everyone look bad.

literally the only good use for this is spelling mistakes or extra clarification

I guess it wouldn't hurt to have such a feature, but in all my years on being on this forum not once have I needed nor wanted to see someone's edit history.

Most edits are trivial - usually used just for fixing grammar, word choice or sentence structure. There's not much to look at.

The situations Tund described are really unrealistic. And even if someone were to write a controversial post and tried to edit it later in an attempt to trick others, people are still going to remember the original and call that person out even more, so such a system would still be unnecessary.

well what woudl you use thi sfor john? fwhat if diff/buzz/toma snips somethougng out of your post and everyoene coudl see the history would make snippin guseless editting is fo rpurpose atleast omst edits and tbh most edits do have an E: XXXXX undert the post to show that they added somethign to the post
