Hi, I'm starting a small betting pool on who the next member to leave staff will be!

The prizes are steam codes for one of the following games:

Rules

• All you need to do is post a Name, and an Exact Date of when that person will quit the EE team. Make your guess in bold so I can see it easily please (Look at atilla's post for good formatting).

• I'm also throwing in a few other events, just guess the date for those as well.

• You can guess on the same person as someone else, but not the same exact date.

• When one of these things happen, the person with the closest guess will win, and PM me the game of their choice!

• No colluding/self-guessing please.

It's all fixed now.

Also, is this topic going to get locked eventually? Post editing is allowed and maybe that'll lead to someone changing their guesses in the future.

It's not necessarily cheating, but if Xeno posts something saying that  EEO is getting released on such and such a date on Discord or on EE (which is harder to track than the forums) and someone changes their guess to 6 months past that date to account for Xeno's optimism, it kind of gives them an unfair advantage.

Yeah that's a good point, I can't disable editing unfortunately (unless a mod does it for me), so I guess I'll make a deadline for submissions

The other option is for me to have a list of all of the guesses in the OP that I won't change

What happens if there's a tie? Two users can't guess the same day, but what if they're an equal number of days before and after the actual date? And which timezone is preferred if it comes down to timezone differences? These are kinda nitpicky questions but there's a real reward so I might as well put them out there.

Also, from what I understand the event guesses are judged whenever that specific event comes true. If so doesn't that make early predictions inherently better? If somebody sincerely predicts 2022 but thinks it's more likely another event will happen in 2020, it's in their best interest to predict 2020 for both, right? Because if the 2022 event happens first that means it's earlier than the user actually thought, influencing votes to be as early as a user finds any event likely to happen. With effect strategizing this means guesses act as raffle ticket, guessing the date of the earliest event. So effective guesses should be both balanced between actual speculation, and in proportion to how likely the event will come first. Is this making any sense??

I'll be using the tried and tested "The Price Is Right" method of closest-without-going-over.
(eg. if Adam picks June 1st, and Ben picks June 3rd, and it happens on June 2nd, Ben wins)

As for timezones, I'll be looking at the time the official announcement was made on the forums in AEST (UTC+10) so I don't have to do any maths

I might shake the details of the rules around later, but really this is a bit of fun, and there's plenty of prizes in the pool to go around so I don't think it'll be too much of an issue

EE is shut down - with official announcement october 25th iff not december 31th but i doubt it will be up unitl the last date of flash but i think at this rate it wont be shutdown until the end so y guess will be october 25th

EEO is released  though one given its already april maby it'll magically be done around august so im guessing 18th of august

EEU is released into public beta xeno told it hsoudl be in a month or 2 but given recent drama wiht luke it might be delayed by a good bit so 30th july is my guess

EEU is released OUT of beta no time othurry this if wew in public beta already but wwell my guess willl be jan 20th 2021
