Ah yeah. Because calling the cops when a meteor is about to fall on your head is gonna do anything.

The Meteor is flying in a no fly zone. The Police will arrest the meteor and it'll spend time in jail for breaking the lAW.

you obviously would be calling the police to check on the meteor and once they can atest that it's a meteor they can confirm to you that it's a meteor. what do you do after that? uhhhhhhhhh

We had a meteorite fall "nearby" a while ago (didn't see it, it was very bright and kinda green in videos of it) but I thought the boom was just some bogan crashing their car somewhere. It was honestly really spooky finding out it was a meteorite later on. Thankfully, it happened over water.
