Pokemon Mafia (#37) Sign Ups

Hello, and welcome to Pokemon Mafia. This is my first time hosting a mafia game, so I won't be introducing any wild concepts or absurdly gimmicky roles, to make the whole process easier - for you and me both.

The game is a semi-open 13 player set up themed around Pokemon. Every role that could potentially be in the game are known, however, the exact distribution of roles will not be disclosed. Every role in the game is a variation of already existing Mafia roles and, functionally, they have little to no alterations from their original counterparts. So, for example, Blissey is a standard doctor, with the only changes made being a new name and flavor text.

Here's the set up:

Five Vanilla Townies
Four Town Power Roles
One Neutral Role
Three Mafia Roles

some quuestion abourt some roles

blissy: okay so just a nromal doctor wiht the cchance of portecting youself once during the game thats a nice mechanic

omastar: bring back someone to life wiht an confirmed role that is nice but too OP imo blissy can infinty heal that role if the orle is OP also can you use this one somene you THINK will die so they'll die an darebrought back to life insta if so hat fi you miss?

hawlucha: so you can kill infinty targets untill you kill town memeber which in retun you will lose your gun? hmm an upgraded vig

wobuffet: IF you use this does this apply on everyone doign something on you? and fails oneveryone if you are blocked?

Revealing VT pokemon initially is problematic because every VT player can simply roleclaim and then there’s basically 5 confirmed townies, which makes the game townsided and **** for mafia.

Plz balance the setup. I don’t want another mechanics based game. More games that require actual skill please.

Ah, you're right; I'm sorry. I added four more vanilla townies that can potentially be in the game, so everyone claiming d1 is no longer a viable strategy.

Okay, I know you probably don't like to think too hard about these things but let me explain

Every vanilla townie claims: all the available vanilla townie pokemon are claimed. If a Mafia claims a vanilla townie pokemon, the actual vanilla townie that is that pokemon counterclaims, thus one of those two people HAVE to be Mafia, thus giving the town a huge lead + anyone who has no counterclaim is a confirmed vanilla townie.

This was before there were more than 5 vanilla town pokemon

I think the setup still is kinda hard for mafia. Due to all of the claiming shenanigans. But eh.

Yeah i think it would be best if you either didn't reveal any pokemon names at all, or you just disabled it. I don't want to be the wicked boogeyman taking away all of your flavour text, but it can mess with balancing.

Should I just close this topic let someone else host a different game, and then try to open a new Pokemon-themed game later with all of the problems tweaked? The constant fixes and alterations are getting kind of ridiculous and annoying.

You can run the game as it is, but it's going to be unbalanced. I'm just tellin ya the way i see it.
It's up to you if you wanna cancel and polish the setup.
