Welcome to Mafia 31!

Rules:

1. Respect everyone, it's just a game, don't be a jerk.
2. Do not gamethrow. Play your role to win even if it seems dire, you never know what might happen.
3. Only discuss the game in this thread, or threads I assign to you.
4. Dead men tell no tales. Please use the graveyard thread if you have been eliminated.
5. Make all night actions via PM to me.
6. Don't use the mod text color please.
7. Try to post at least once every 24 hours.
8. Days will last 72 hours, nights will last 24 hours.
9. If you break the rules I will be rather ornery.

The setup:

You thought that nothing in your little village could go wrong. Sure, there were a few unsavoury people around, but what town doesn't? Things were going fine. Until one morning, you left your house, and were perplexed to discover that there was two of everything! Looking to the left of your house, you saw your house, or at least what looked like your house! As everyone emerged from their houses, it was surprising to find that there was also double the number of people! But you couldn't recognise anyone, not the seven from your town, not the seven from the ersatz town that arrived overnight, and certainly not the mysterious drifter that seemed to be from both universes and neither at the same time...

Lynching rules:
Each day the highest lynch target from each universe with the most votes are eliminated.
If there is a tie in one of the universes at the end of the day, the result will be a nolynch scenario for that universe.
All votes can be added/removed until the deadline.

You are the Mafia Universe Cop. You are in universe [?]. Your teammate is [?]. You may communicate at any time in this Private Chat: [?].
Every night, you may discover which universe a player is in.
Each night, as a team you may kill another player in the game, however, this will only succeed if that player is in your universe.
You will win when all of the members of the town in your universe are dead.

Mafia Backup Alpha/Omega:

You are the Mafia Backup. You are in universe [?]. Your teammate is [?]. You may communicate at any time in this Private Chat: [?].
In the case that your teammate dies, you will gain their ability.
Each night, as a team you may kill another player in the game, however, this will only succeed if that player is in your universe.
You will win when all of the members of the town in your universe are dead.

Town Universe Cop Alpha/Omega:

You are the Town Universe Cop. You are in universe [?].
Every night, you may discover which universe a player is in.
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Town Faction Cop Alpha/Omega::

You are the Town Faction Cop. You are in universe [?].
Every night, you may discover which faction a player is in. [Town/Mafia]
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Town Mason Alpha/Omega:

You are the Town Mason. You are in universe [?].
You have the ability to communicate through secret channels with the Town Mason in the other universe here: [?]
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Town Vanilla Alpha/Omega:

You are a Town Vanilla. You are in universe [?].
While you don't have any special abilities, you have the power of your voice and your vote. And the second best flavour of icecream!
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Town Vanilla Alpha/Omega:

You are a Town Vanilla. You are in universe [?].
While you don't have any special abilities, you have the power of your voice and your vote. And the second best flavour of icecream!
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Drifter:

You are the Drifter. You do not belong to either universe, but float between them.
Every night you will choose a universe to belong to temporarily. For all purposes of votes, mafia kills, and cop checks, you will be affected by your choice. You're an affable person and will always appear to be "Town" when checked by a cop. You cannot be lynched Day 1.
You will win if you survive to the end of the game.

Game End:
When a universe concludes its game (either by all town or all mafia dying), those players will be removed, and the remaining players will continue until their game concludes.

Please use the command !lynch <player> in BOLD on a SEPARATE LINE, so I can see them easily.

At the end of the day, the highest voted player from each universe will be eliminated. If there is a tie in a particular universe, no-one from that universe will be eliminated.

Anatoly, the Universes are essential for a couple of factors, I'll explain it as best as I can for now:

The universes are important for who you lynch: You can lynch anyone you like, but if the person with the most lynches for each Universe will be lynched at the end of the day. He's explained how that works in the OP, which makes it a lot better for you to read how that works in the OP.

The universes are important for who the Mafia kill: The Mafia can only kill people in their own Universe, therefore meaning that if a Mafia from Universe Alpha were to try and kill a Town from Universe Omega (Or vice versa), the kill would fail, and there would be no kill for them. (This is because Onjit wanted there to be more of a risk revealing what Universe you're from.)

The universe in general is supposed to be like a key feature to the mechanics of the game. This still is the main thread, where everyone can talk, the game will run pretty much like a regular Mafia game, but the Universe themself adds more of a risk to both sides of alignments.

I really agree you heed what Luka was saying and read the OP. Because, like Luka has said, there is a lot of information in there, which can explain how everything works a lot better than I can.

Right off the bat, we should probably discuss something rather important. Hoe many people should we vote for?

If we have multiple lynch candidates at the end of the day, we have a chance of killing two mafia members at once, and using the information of who died, we can figure out the universes other people are from.

The problem? The mafia find that out too. The mafia can only kill people from their own universe, so we don't want them to know who's from what universe. Today, there is a 75% chance that one mafia member won't kill anyone, since they'd be shooting in the dark. But that percentage of missing will decrease rapidly as more information becomes available to them.

I think it would be better to only have one lynch candidate *at the end of the day.* You're fine to vote for whomever, but once we've decided who we want to die, we should unvite everyone else.

Thoughts?

Aight so now people want to kill me from the very beginning. Understandable, but you guys do realize I was helpful to everyone even as Mafia, I might not have seemed like it after the game concluded, but all of you believed me because I was helpful to everyone. I know I'm not mafia so I'm just trying to help genuinely now.

I think that lynching one person will be fine (since I agree that we shouldn't be revealing what Universe someone is from). Unless there's two candidates we know are mafia (likely from Factional Cop), then we'd lynch both of them and find out what Universe both of them are from. (Since if one gets lynched, one is a Universe Alpha/Omega, and the other is a Universe Omega/Alpha.

Other than that scenario, I do agree that only one candidate should be up for lynch.

You seem very confident on lynching me, and we've only gotten into the 19th post of the game. This is highly different from how you played last game, where you advised against lynching so early, and even brought up suspicion against Luka simply for starting a lynch against someone so early.

My fate is pretty much sealed, so while I can, I'm going to put the suspicions on people that I find suspicious, because I'm gonna be lynched either way.

"I know I'm not a mafia" sounds like you're feigning certainty to sound more convincing. You wrote that sentence instead of "I'm not mafia" and there's a reason you did that.

Your other sentences don't really help your case either. My alarm bells are ringing loudly.

Like I said, I already know I'm gonna be lynched, since you and Norwegian won't listen to reason. I told you my syntax of that statement holds no value, it's just a way that I thought of it when I said it.

My other sentences are "alarming" because both you and Norwegianboy take it in the context of last game, in which I was Mafia. So no matter what I do, I'll be suspected, so lynch me if you want, but I'm gonna spend my time finding other possible candidates other than trying to defend against a moot point. Because both of you have made it very obvious of your stance.
