Sure, it is theoretically possible he could be making this all up. But I don't believe he is considering how elaborate that lie would be and how little it would actually achieve. I've not even seen a lie of that scale on mafiascum.

I think the fact that this game is point-based kind of skews the whole team-based game - like, I want to get rid of the non-town, so i don't lose points, but I also want to have more points than the rest of my teammates at the end of the game

truly, no-one is aligned in this game since we all have our own private objectives

(interesting setup slab - cool twist on the mafia formula imo)

It actually still contains teamwork, the town has to finding out mafia so all town members can earn points.

You have been given a fake rolecard. Investigative actions and death will only reveal the fake rolecard, instead of the real one. You may spend a night not performing any other night actions to fix it, as well as see what the fake rolecard was.
If you target someone twice, they will get the message immediately with the option to reflexively deal with it instead of the action they chose. In this case, you must send me the action before the Night begins (or otherwise 24 hours before the end of the Night). You will not receive any information from the targetted person. If the target dies on the night you use this ability, both rolecards will be seen. (The effect is instant for any other kind of investigation.)
