I'm gonna read the backlog for myself in a bit while I get situated into bed.

Today's the first day in a week and a half that I've gotten out of bed. I've been really sick the past few weeks and it's crippled the amount of time I could devote to real life things, and for a while I thought I wouldn't be able to commit myself to this game, which is why I didn't sign up in its initial stages.

Meanwhile, would someone catch me up to speed please?

We got a mafia and we got an independent serial killer. Up until last night I thought both could and would kill each night but we've had 2 nights and only a single kill on both nights. And we've lost basically our two most powerful roles, the vigilante and the seer.

D1 peace got a message saying that he had been protected, it didn't mention whether or not he had been protected from anything in particular but since only one person died that night I thought hey maybe the doc got a lucky shot.

Although since there's also been only one kill last night, I'm kinda curious. Did the doc get lucky again? We haven't had any reports of docmessages but it's still fairly early in the day. Or is there something wrong with one of the scum factions? Has anyone been particularly absent through the game?

Oh crap. What keeps me in touch with how mafia works is seeing JKNews cast play it. I don't think I've heard of the serial killer before. If there's a vigilante already, then I'm assuming he's a standalone then

If people are getting messages that they're being saved from something, then did someone get a message last night, too? If not, the only thing I can think of is that they both picked the same target at the same time. There wouldn't be anything incentivizing the serial killer to not kill anybody, would there be?

I DID receive a message that I was protected by the doctor. Or rather it said I'm protected from "night killing". It wasn't A night killing or THE night killing, just night killing. So I'm not sure whether the message itself is supposed to convey that I was attacked but it does tell us that peace was being truthful and, given that there was also no kill this night, I think that it does mean that the kill is prevented.

I wouldn't say confirmed town, since there is always a chance that he was scum counting on the self vote not going through, but yeah I agree. In my opinion, given Onjit's vanilla claim and seeming willingness to take the lynch in order for us to learn more information, I too heavily think that he is town.

We were going to lynch him but we didn't have enough time in the day to do so. So he self voted to help us along whilst claiming that, since he's just a townie, it doesn't matter if he dies and him dying would give us information. However, the self vote didn't count and Railmat had not made it perfectly clear in the OP that self votes don't get counted.

Also, I've concluded that it was most likely the mafia who killed norweiganboy and they knew he was the seer. Reason being, if you don't choose to kill the cop, then you choose to kill the person the cop confirms as town - Aka, Kirby. Norweiganboy was not the optimal kill unless you knew he was the seer.

I'm fairly certain that the mafia must have investigated him night 1 (which would mean that they didn't investigate me after all lol), but I'm going to look for potential crumbs from norweiganboy. Especially since he knew somebody here's role and alignment. I'm not so interested in finding out their role, but it would certainly be beneficial to see if we can confirm another person as town.

@mutant, why do you think maf would target me? seems like SK is a bigger threat to them right now so it seems like a smarter choice to roll the dice to try to get rid of SK instead

You said you got a protect message, right? I don't know how likely this is, but what if the Mafia did investigate you, and they went after you, and the serial killer went after Norwegianboy and found him purely out of luck?

If they did investigate you, then I think I can trust you.

That's a fair point, but killing confirmed townies is also just as important. I guess they could have thought that SK would kill you. In general, I don't think it changes much whether they did or didn't know he was the seer. Though working out the difference could tell us something about the personality of the team.

what exactly was you rmessage? mine was you are portected form dying
if ours is diffrent hhen we can conclude doc wa slucky on your protection

I don't want to push this too hard since I mean it did start out as just a vague impression but like. We got a missing kill and a role going through rapid swaps.

but anatoly was replaced in mid D1 so 1 kill in N1 is still wierd luka got reaplced after (or in) N2 then crybaby requested a replacement a few hours later

MODMERGE: have to add how did we lose 2 powerfull roles?

also question to mutant: (or just someone who can nswer me this for futre mafia games) if you are cop or seer and you check an aligment/role and you see thyere mafia how do u react on this or how do u tell town this/vote on them?

Okay, here's an interesting development:

Through PM, I asked the mod if the message I received meant I had been attacked. The response basically gives us 3 pieces of information.

So I think diff is right.

peace was probably attacked whilst I was probably not. This makes me want to look back on people's reactions to peace's claim because, if the attacker received a message to tell them their kill failed, I think they'd probably instantly believe him.

Although I'm almost certain at this stage that the Luka/Crybaby slot is SK, I think it's best to wait for a replacement since it seemingly might be modkilled anyway.

How ever you want to I guess. There's no 'right' way to do it. If you're unsure, just claim at the start of the day when you have a guilty.
