Hi Everybody,

So, it's finally time for me to address the last breach in more detail, now that we've managed to rectify most of the issues involved.

On April 8th, 2019, hackers were able to access over 1000 accounts using the "linked connection". This means that they never used emails or passwords to log into accounts, but used a security loophole to connect other accounts to existing accounts in order to do certain actions, including:

Spending Gems on a forced username change.
Spending Gems on as many small worlds as possible.
Deleting most friends from Friends Lists.

In addition, they linked to staff accounts, using them to do the following:

Clear and save every world in the lobby at the time.
Clear and save most Campaign Levels.
Move blocks around within some staff levels.

We stopped this attack as soon as we could by deleting the "linked connection" entirely, at which point, all hacker access to the accounts was blocked, and everything malicious going on stopped immediately.

Over the past week, we have been doing everything we can to reverse the damage. The quickest restoration was the Campaign Levels, which we managed to restore in the same day. Over 40,000 Gems were spent that day, so I've been painstakingly going through as many accounts as possible that I could find affected on that date to refund the small worlds purchased. I also reversed all the forced username changes, and cancelled any pending username changes on accounts. For safety, we also disabled the ability to change usernames at all, just in case the hackers found another way to force username changes.

Yesterday, we restored the Friends of everyone in-game to before the time of the attack. Some people commented on some friends being removed that they had added within the last week. Even though we attempted to avoid this, please just try adding them again, and it should work fine.

Today, we changed the way the linked accounts work, so they should now be accessible on our main site again.

Sorry for all the inconvenience. If your account is still affected with a loss of Gems, or any deleted worlds on April 8th, please contact me by private message on these forums, and I will attempt to sort them out as soon as possible. Please do not email [email protected] for these adjustments, and only email if you wish to link accounts from other sites, as I have a large backlog of emails to catch up on. Apologies for the delays in handling these too.

Well i'd assume it's an Easter related update, since Easter is on Sunday, and the update is coming on Friday. But who know's, it could be something completely different.
