Who's Gregbot?

When you are on the index page and look at the bottom it shows who is online. I sometimes check that and I started to notice that Gregbot is always online yet he never posts. Who is he?

He posted only once though. On forums that is, not the forums channel on a discord server

Why do you need a bot to watch the forums when you can just go to forums and read them yourself?
I understand that he reminds you when something is posted, but isn't that why the forums have the small lights next to the topics?

Forums don't send push notifications to your devices. Discord does.

So it is a bot so people get pinged for topics even if they don't wanna read it or don't have the time? Meh ok. I thought maybe it was like some bot that just saves a massive log of posts here or whatever

Gregbot is a bot which registers every message posted.
