Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Probably some kind of human species I guess

haha yes finding randos to fill in the spots of the people you booted nice job
at some point everyone in the community will have been a staff member and either be fired arbitrarily or retire
This used to be a joke. Now it's painfully accurate.

Okay, guys, let's just calm down and give them a chance to show themselves. Let's don't judge before we actually see something. Hmmm... I mean, before Patrons see something.

The geme is all about patrons now, huh?

On the other hand, it's hard to find well-known staff candidates with a completely clean record; most new staff who are active in the community get hated on before they even begin.
This way, only their future actions can start a witch hunt. Good luck to them.
One bot to rule them all, one bot to find them. One bot to bring them all... and with this cliché blind them.

Yeah so hiring as a moderator a random person that almost nobody in the community has ever heard of is the right course of action

Well not really, like someone that's well-known in the community would be better but it also depends on what kind of person they are. Someone that isn't really serious and has no coding knowledge or anything would be a bad choice. Someone who isn't really known but is good in coding and they are serious would probably be picked over someone who will likely not get anything done (In terms of updates/community)

Something tells me that if you become staff you're gonna make a typo in the code and it's gonna either reset the entire game and remove all code or give everyone everything.

Not a single person so far has tried to explain why it's a bad idea - and I don't think they could, convincingly.
I think it's a little xenophobic. Apparently 'unknown' = 'bad' by default.

I agree with this, mostly. I think there's valid concern, remember Zioxei?

I don't understand, why does them not being too well known mean that they aren't qualified for the job? I can kinda understand the point of view that it's good for moderators to know the community fairly well, but developers definitely don't need to be involved with the community to do their job.

Yeah and I'm talking about the new moderator specifically
Cercul is fine, I've seen him on the forums occasionally and some people know him, plus a dev is pretty much behind the scenes work
As for the grand guy, his work is much more community related and as such a moderator has to know the community and vice versa
Not only this is the first time many of the people ever heard his name, he doesn't even seemingly have a forum account and it's been 3 days and he still did not introduce himself???

sure, but naturally people don’t fire their staff because they don’t agree with them

Don't.
How long will it take me to get banned again?
