Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

No objective judgement. Plain and easy - the team of judges will decide and thats it - because there is no good or bad when it comes to art.  Also, its not a contest. Its a tournament with matches and live drawing within a given time frame. And after the time ends the judges will .. judge.

And how can you guarantee to the participants that the judges are qualified to be judging the contest in the first place?

Why should I? Really? The judges including me, do what we feel like - thats how it works. If you disagree with this you should not join once the interest is there and everything is set up.

That's precisely why. You and the other judges will do what you feel like. The system is entirely biased.

Yeah.. crybaby. Feel free to avoid this tournament. No one is forcing you to participate.
And the judges I pick won't be idiots or otherwise biased persons.

Thanks //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/smile I appreciate your initiative and reconsider it once everything is actually planned and made up etc. This can take some time at first.
