Assorted pedo debates

I'd say i'm more of a conservative, so republican. I don't agree with  a ton of the ideas we have as a party, but at least i'm not some nut job who thinks science is ****, school shootings are done out of privilege, and that pedophiles are acceptable.

What do you mean by school shootings being an privilege? Privilege for who?

Why should pedophiles not be accepted? It’s not their fault that they were born that way, nobody willingly chooses to be an pedophile. And just because you’re an pedophile doesn’t mean you’re inherently an rapist. It’s important to distinguish between the term pedophile and child molester.

What do you mean by school shootings being an privilege? Privilege for who?

Uhhh I was poking fun at things Sjw people have said, now I can't really give you any sources but If you look around the media you'll see some weird **** they say.

Also you aren't born a pedophile, that's not how it works; It's an actual choice believe it or not. I doubt when someone is born they want to pry on children, or rape them. I don't know why people are, or chose to become pedophiles but to me they appear to be fetishes. We all have our kinks, and for some people they dive deep into some tom ****.

Also this should be like a debate topic, It would be better off I'm sure.

One reason I could see is.. adults are former kids.  So as a kid, you may have found other kids attractive.  But as you age, your attraction may not age as well, I guess?  Suppose you are 17 and find 17 year olds attractive.. you turn 18 and suddenly you're expected not to be attracted to 17 year olds?  But of course there are more extreme cases of much younger children.  I just mean you can't just make yourself unattracted to an age group that fast and easily.  Same thing goes with friendships, when you turn 18 do you cut ties with any current or potential friends younger than 18?  I think the mind ages slower than the body.  For instance, I'm in my mid twenties, but I still feel like I'm 18 or 19.

I don't think it is a choice, no kinks are.  The only choice is acting on those desires.  An attraction is not the same as rape.  And an attraction doesn't always involve thoughts of sexual activity either.

i know this is waaaaaay off-topic but i'll say it anyway

the way i see pedophilia is:
children cannot consent. they're under-developed and un-able to comprehend sexuality and intercourse, especially when they haven't even developed. even when they're going thru puberty they still are not mentally developed enough. 16 is about the fair age (which is 2 years older than here, it's 14 in bosnia) when someone is mentally ready enough and physically developed enough to have sex. a 20+ something year old in an intimate relationship with someone below that age is exploitation.

defending pedophila by saying "oh, you're born with it, you can't help it, it can't be bad" is wrong. people are born disabled, born mentally ill, etc. does that make it ok and a good thing? no. if you can't control your "urges" seek help, like people do for other ills.

child pornography and lolicon is enablism and cannot be defended either. instead of treating the urge it appeases and flourishes it. pedophilia is morally and naturally wrong.

morally- yeah, naturally, not if they're of reproductive age technically, but it's all about what is morally wrong or right here, which varies from country to country as you noted with your country's age of consent.  In the US it's 18, so attraction to a 17 year old could be thought as pedophilia here, but in your country it's OK.  And we're not so much defending pedophilia, but differentiating it from the act of rape or molestation.

even IF they don't molest anyone it's still a mental illness that needs treatment.

If it's real ****, that's definitely wrong.  Drawn art however.. while uncomfortable to me, I do have the belief of if you're not hurting anyone, you can do whatever you want.  As long as they don't shift onto real kids, no harm has technically been done.  Not to say that any form of treatment should be avoided, though.

Why is pedophilia a mental illness but homophilia is not? Why do we accept that pedophilia can be "cured" while homophilia is not curable but simply the way you are?
Why are pedophiles seen as highly likely to be unscrupulous rapists, while homophiles are treated as normal people?

Well, nobody uses the term 'homophilia' any longer; it's homosexuality.

I don't think it's entirely true but the reason why pedophiles are seen as to be more likely to commit a crime is because their full desires are unable to be legally satiated.
As you've mentioned, there's outlets that don't involve indirectly subsidizing an illegal industry which affects children, artistic depictions (lolicon) is one, toys/dolls are another.

It's not a fair comparison since homosexuals are legally able to fulfil their desires whereas pedophiles are not.
