John's Departure

Hi everyone,

John (Emalton) wanted me to pass on this message:

Hey, I don't think I have enough free time to [stay on] the team, and I think it would be better for everyone if I wasn't involved.

As such, John will no longer be official Everybody Edits staff from today.

That being said, I think many of you are aware that John and I had some disagreements over the right way to run Everybody Edits. We didn't always see eye-to-eye over some of the decisions made during his time with us, and we both agree it may not have worked out in the long-run. He also told us that he doesn't know about his availability, and has suggested that he should be removed from the team as a result.

Please see my Long-Term Plan post for what the future holds for Everybody Edits!

It is disappointing that John didn't say this sorrowful fact himself. There was no need for hurry, no need for this acknowledgement now.

He is an open person and perhaps he was the most involved staff in the Forums and Discord.

Hopefully we shall see him again if not as staff at least as a vivid member.

- john busy with schoolwork, presumably only on his phone/computer for top priority things
- decides to leave staff due to events going on via snapchat because he's too busy

if you think he would have had time to announce on forums then ok?? the most that matters is that he left

I was going to, but it's alright. I've been extremely busy and have been noticing how I would only get more occupied as time progresses. I want to focus on what I plan to do with the rest of my life, but I really do love the game.

I said the following to a staff member earlier today:
"yeah i dont have the time needed to dedicate to it
been occasionally dropping by
i did tell showpath that i am happy to help out during the summer, and hope that i would be welcomed back
i felt like i had to say something instead of just dying off so yeah i guess"

So yeah, as Zyhrllos said, school is eating my time

John actually has a very valid reason to leave, and very much respect his decision to leave staff even if I don't want him to. However, I feel he was a great staff member, and I still wish to see him maybe return at some point.
