Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Does anybody else get annoyed how we can't know what staff is doing behind the scenes, like, is there even any progress being made? This was a problem in the past when people got upset for the lack of updates and for the silence from the staff. And when we finally got a response from them we find out how nothing was even happening for the development of ee.
So, what I'm suggesting is that staff makes a special topic on the forums where they write a short post saying what they have been doing for selected period of time - they should post maybe 1x a week or every 10 or 20 days.
Staff's Update Posts could include quick sneak peaks for the next update, maybe with some pics, building hype. The Posts could even be as simple as "We fixed 1 bug this week!" or as honest as "We did absolutely nothing this week!"
Just post something. And stick to the schedule... Maybe this way staff will feel more motivated or even disciplined to DO something. Plus it's a nice way to include the community, collecting feedback and opinions for the future updates. Staff shouldn't be so distant and secretive. It doesn't have to be this way.

A new every week would be a miracle
It seems like currently they're still dealing with the transfer of ownership and all that stuff.
And there's a lot of silence within the team as well, so even I'm trying to find out exactly what's going on.
I know there are a few small-ish updates planned for these next couple months though.

Every game needs transparency. A 100% connection to the community is never a good thing, since staff can't choose things certainly people agree on and certain people don't.
NDA (Non-Discolure-Agreement) contract; it was signed by all staff members, which means nobody is allowed to disclose about what they're doing.
Megalamb is the only one who can put any final word in this matter, so I guess it's up to him to do these announcements.

As ByteArray mentioned, a transfer is currently going on with EE. During this time the main priority is to make sure that the transfer runs smoothly, and once this is completed there will be tons of discussions about different aspects of EE among the staff. These discussions are not happening too much now due to the fact that the transfer is ongoing. However, the transfer should be fully complete soon.

Cool... Was just sad seeing this game going nowhere for so many months. I hope everything goes smoothly and development gets back on track soon.

come on are you serious?
each new dev team comes up with a new reason to drag the time, this is beyond ridiculous
practice proves that this always results in months (or years?) of waiting with the devs eventually being replaced

a small-ish update is something like a pack of bug fixes and tweaks? once per month?

Which type of soon? Unity soon or back from vacation soon?
Jokes aside, the transfer is concerning me a little. The transition started basically the day that Emalton/Xetonix took over and has been ongoing ever since. I obviously don't know the full details of it and I know very little of business and the legalities of the process but surely it shouldn't be taking this long? It's clear that the transfer is halting updates but what is halting the transfer itself?

Nobody is secretive, so why try?

It's a basic truth of the human condition that everybody lies. The only variable is about what.
