1) It would be good from start on to release transparent graphics (with alpha channel), so you won't need to filter the black.
2) Vase could be smoother.
3) I'd suggest to work more on smilies.
4) Sun smiley is great! However the glasses could have a small retouch.

I kinda like the idea of animated smileys, like special that you gotta work for cause they are animated

I’d suggest to make the color difference for the vase bigger. Also use another color. You tried to use gold? Then make this yellow darkened. Also not sure, but I’m thinking of a border? What you really need now is the color difference in the shading. And a more golden color then yellow (or a wooden texture)
About the sun ? smiley: What about the sun being a separated layer, for example as an aura. I think a sun aura could be used on every smiley and would look good 
Edit: Especially about the blocks in the middle. They are lonely and could have great recolor, making big packs. What about for the roof background making a red, green, blue, black and grey recolor (considering what you got now is white). PS. It looks more like being foreground.

This reminds me of the crumble block from Platform Racing 2. To be honest, I've completely slept on the idea of a block like that, but it seems you've got it down. The issue is, when exactly does the block reappear?
