Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Something I have always found myself wanting to know in EE is how long it takes to do something. My most common need for this is testing how long it takes to pass through a switch machine. Basically what this effect does is when you touch it, it starts a timer which is displayed under your coins and deaths. Then when you touch the disabled variant of the effect, the timer stops and is displayed there.
Personally, I think the timer should display the time with this format hh:mm:ss.000. This keeps the timer fairly accurate and day-long timers aren't really needed in my opinion.
Here are some **** graphics I created just to visualise this:
Timer display
Timer start effect block
Timer stop effect block
The timer will persist once it has been stopped until the player resets or types the command /cleartimer (can be used even in levels you don't own).
Not only would this block be good for switch mechanics but I can also see it being used in bots, race worlds, creating music, to calculate how long you want the player to have the zombie or curse effect for and calculating how long it takes to beat your level (or a section of it). Of course, lag will impact the timer but I think it's definitely better than nothing. This block may not have much of an effect on gameplay, but it is certainly a handy tool to optimise level making so that gameplay is better.

I would prefer the timer to count up rather than down, to be honest, as counting up is more helpful for calculating timings. I see no reason why they can't be variants of each other though if implemented correctly and neatly.

Race effect timer can count both up and down, depending on whether the race has a time-limit.
Would you mind reading the whole topic instead of just judging from the images?
