what if everything typed in the chat would be said out loud with text-to-speech, so it would sound like a huge crowd.

Similar idea: to help new players understand the game better, picking up a coin will read out the entire transcript of en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coin.

That isn't possible because the room instances are separated and cannot communicate with each other.

There was a bot called global chat or something. You had to say something in order to hear the people that had also said that thing from another world. it worked, because the bot was in every world. This should work pretty similarly.

the bot used a database to tie the worlds together, and was a third party, so we would have to rework their servers to have all worlds connected via chat. A global chat would work, but I digress. Text to speech would be amazing. Gets my approval.
