Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Okay I have an idea. Why can't you just port all of the midi instruments into EE and use the keyboard to place the notes. Just have a list and select an instrument and then use it; MIDI sounds are good enough for most people (especially with the piano that they put in the game). They can even just sell instrument packs like:
Brass: 5000 Energy
-A brass section consisting of the tuba, trombone, French horn, and trumpet!
Woodwind: 6000 Energy
-A woodwind section of flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and alto saxophone!
Mallets: 3000 Energy
-Includes Chimes, Marimba, Bells, Xylophone, and Vibraphone!
Also pls add a triangle

Roland GM/GS Sound Set 1996 is lovely, I like the suggestion!
But I think it'll be hard to make a decent composition within EE as you're still using just blocks and tiles. But the idea of adding more music blocks is nice. However, there are 128 different instruments in General MIDI so that'd be a LOT of work and a LOT of new blocks.
Tabs will be spammed with music blocks.

I don't think there's any reason to add that many instruments as blocks, since they can't be used for other that simple music worlds. A much better idea would be to add a new music editor to EE for background music.
All the editor would need is:
- Piano roll
- Tempo/grid controls
- Velocity for each note
- A GM soundset (without gunshots etc)
- (and maybe a mixer too)

Please yes, it'd be a great outcome. But there should be a mute button if you want to keep BGM on and SFX off or the other way around.

You should really suggest this as an idea in the forum, it's great.
