Scintillating bass, but wasn't much a fan of heavy-core electronic music. Not exactly dubstep either, just hard electronic in general. On the other hand, song simply seems to be a repeat melody with added benefits. I imagine it to be some sort of sound design showcase? Or if it's just simply a song...but looped multiple times...? Again, not very creative in terms of transition and flow, but if we disregard that aspect, then it's a pretty alright song.

Doing some research has me discovering that this "Ben Brode" figure is, in fact, the Game Director of Hearthstone. You've given me a song with nothing to build upon, for it is clearly a joke song lacking review substance. I'll give it a moderate score for effort, however.

Manganas Garden - Stuck in Nostalgia

I started to notice it was just a pop song with disco undertones at around the ~40 second mark. Don't assume it to be a bad thing, just pointing things out. For those who don't know, Nu Disco is simply a "revival genre" of Disco, usually paired with more modern lyrical structures and melody in general. The song was pretty good, dislike the vocalist though. Not for his singing; his singing is average, but for his choice to go with a more pop-ish feel. Not bashing the pop genre, I understand why some people would like it, but I, personally, don't.

Michael Penn - Try

Have to start this review saying I don't really like the way the lyrics flow. I don't know how to describe it, you know there's a difference between rock singers and pop singers, but not because of melody or voice, but it's the style of singing. Pop usually has voices that go "ooohh" and "heyyyy", I don't appreciate it that much. If I took a gander at music theory, I could most likely explain it in terms of note structure, but I don't want to get too complex. I'll leave you with this: pop music follows a template. Other genres, such as jazz or electronic, usually don't, especially of the experimental / avant-garde types.

I enjoyed this very much. Background ambience was great, sounds hit hard. I find it remarkable that someone would be able to formulate such a song; it's already hard to follow by ear. There's some glitch tones going on over here, and a synth over there, and now some angelic sounds; it's everywhere all at the same time. And I find that rather intriguing. I was always a big fan of the experimental genre, so this is definitely getting high marks from me.

yes this is a song that mainly goes for just listening to it while doing something else and has the same vibe throughout the duration of the song

Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4

Genre: Jazz Rock / Hard Rock
Published: 1970

Holy ****, this was a GOOD song! Probably the best I've heard out of all. Thank you for suggesting this. The way Cetera sings "25 or 6 to 4" will probably stay in my head for a while. Not to mention, the opening riff is strikingly similar to Led Zeppelin - Babe I'm Gonna Leave You (riff starts at 2:21.) A little research reveals that Led Zeppelin recorded it first, but it was actually a remake off of a 1950's folk song, which I'm not quite sure if it had the melody. I'm pretty sure it was a coincidence either way, I don't think Chicago would steal a riff for personal benefit.

Blue Oyster Cult - Godzilla

Genre: Hard Rock / Heavy Metal

Chicago's song really set the opening standards pretty high. This song dwarfs in comparison. It's a good song, of course, but not compared to the last one. I solely believe that to be personal preference, for I'm into jazz, even better if it's jazz rock. Godzilla was a catchy song, nothing really resonated with me besides "Godzilla!". Probably won't remember much besides that.

I enjoyed the effect on the voice. The fact it was a rock song in 6/8 (3/4 ?) time was interesting for me. Sweet solo, too. However, it didn't really stick to me. In the moment it was incredibly listenable, but it was also forgettable. Mid-ending was swell, especially the slight "Christmas-y" background music, which sounds like bells and some sort of synth?

Hm. Not quite sure what to say. The fact that it was in Russian made it quite a burden to find the singer and understand the lyrics. I couldn't even find the release date; had to base it off of the posted date on YouTube. Apparently it means "Went ****, ****" (quote to bypass censors). Not sure about the forum rules and foreign swears, but I'm not going into that. I guess it's a humorous song? The singer makes it a bit funnier, but I don't really know what to rate about this. Adequate score for effort.

John Frusciante - Unreachable

It's pretty alright. The start was well-polished, but I wasn't a fan of the end. It started to shift into your generic alternative rock music (i.e. Linkin Park. I hate Linkin Park). In all honesty, if it lacked that alternative-rock feel, I would've enjoyed it much more. The instrumental was top-notch, especially that solo at the end.

Muse - Micro Cuts

Wow, reminds me a lot of Radiohead. I really like this song. Strayed away from mainstream modern rock, with that wavering falsetto and baroque undertones. Felt experimental too. fun fact: seona, at least in the context of the bands name, is pronounced "shona", not "sea ona".

k so it was a very minor hit, hitting 117 on the uk singles chart. but if you ever look in the comments of videos on more to lose, you will see people mentioning that it was a huge success... in the philppines. it's a teen anthem there. yes is, not was. from wikipedia:

I very much enjoyed the intro, I thought it was going to go into something great...until the drop. It wasn't weak, I just don't prefer dubstep. This would actually be considered "brostep", for it uses more modern electronic structures (i.e. accelerating kick drum, bass wobble, etc.). Personally, it's pretty alright. Would've been a favorite if I was 4 years younger.

I've listened to their more popular songs before, and I just simply dislike the singer (Sting). He strikes a wrong note with me. But other than that, the song was good. It's another one of those "story" songs, where instead of talking about a theme or specific topic, the lyrics suggest an underlying meaning, in this case, a tale "of an emasculated husband and harried father whose home, work life, and environment are dispiriting and depressing." An incredibly powerful song, no wonder it was used for the London 2012 Olympics. The way the tension builds up to a final tipping point, with Bellamy and the choir singing simultaneously is something to remember. In fact, the background vocals is really what makes this song hard-hitting in general. On a deeper note, I like how the singer increases pitch, letting the listener anticipate climax.

Quite impressive for a song generated by a program. There is a clear structure to it, and the chords flow well together. And surprised to say this; the song was quite catchy as well. It might as well be music theory that makes it catchy, but usually human interaction is needed to create a catchy beat (what sounds good? what sounds bad?).

Another prime example of the 80's, sung by the one and only Ricky Gervais. He looks like David Bowie in the music video, unsure if it was intentional or not. It's a good song overall, really. Not sure if there's anything wrong with it. I actually like this one more than "More to Lose". It feels easier to listen to.
