Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

greetings, and welcome to Color Wars
the objective is to destroy all opponents via the use of strategical planning and simple arithmetic
here is what a regular battle would look like:
some of you may be familiar with these types of games

oh yeah. one thing. what's the "game end" condition? 99 turns passed?
either:
-99 turns passed (max amount turn-counter can hold)
-someone wins by being the last one standing

im curious as to why you decided to put the gray tiles in the game; they seem rather unnecessary and... unhelpful to capture (which means you evade it instead)
guess it makes a more interesting earlygame.

when i first started designing the map, it looked very empty
so i added the gray tiles to "spruce up the place"
maybe in the next incarnation they will have a purpose...???

ok more questions
if i buff up an already owned tile, how much is the multiplier to that? if fully surrounded, would it be x4 or x5? if x4 and 0 surrounding tiles, does that mean x0?
if i buff up a tile while claiming surrounding tiles on the same turn, would that buffed tile also get the multiplier bonus from the newly claimed spaces?
is it possible to build out in threes similar to your building out in 2s strategy? (2 3 2)

Let's say you have a pre-existing tile A with a value of 3, with 3 tiles around it.
If you add another tile adjacent to A, it will buff A at all, because you're not expending any points to it.
However, if you input points to A after that, then the multiplier would be x4, because you have 4 tiles around A.
if fully surrounded, would it be x4 or x5?
The maximum is x4, which is how many tiles are around the specific tile. The tile itself does not contribute to the multiplier.
if x4 and 0 surrounding tiles, does that mean x0?
??
Are you saying, if somehow a tile is not surrounded by any other tiles (probably happens during an attack), then the multiplier would be x0 because there are 0 tiles around it? Well if you are, no, the multiplier is still x1.
if i buff up a tile while claiming surrounding tiles on the same turn, would that buffed tile also get the multiplier bonus from the newly claimed spaces?
Yes. Placing a tile always goes first. This is useful to know during attacks.
is it possible to build out in threes similar to your building out in 2s strategy? (2 3 2)
Yeah, but I just used the 2-tile strategy, because 3-tiles is a waste of points. You can use 2 points for the wall and 1 point to improve your own defenses.

I suggest making it so that capturing a gray tile gives the capturer the original number immediately. If 2 different teams try to capture a gray tile when low enough at the same time, the tile disappears instead.

oh hey i have more questions about mechanics
what happens if i attack using tiles that get attacked (and destroyed) in that same turn?
what happens if two people expand to the same space on the same turn?

both actions would be done no matter what
what happens if two people expand to the same space on the same turn?
if they are different points, treat that as an attack
if they are both the same points, the attack cancels each other out and left with nothing
(point multipliers also apply)
