Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Is there an advantage to using this?

One bot to rule them all, one bot to find them. One bot to bring them all... and with this cliché blind them.

As of yet, there's none besides by virtue of being open-source and modifiable.

It's an ongoing project much like OpenPlayerIO.PlayerIOClient.

It's like hosting your own PLAYERIO but locally right?

Pretty much.

It's still under active development, however you can run a multiplayer game with rooms and tens of thousands of connections. The only limitation is the amount of memory allocated towards the connection buffer.
Keep in mind however, there are compatibility issues with PlayerIO's PlayerIOClient, however it works fine with OpenPlayerIO.PlayerIOClient, which is compatible with PlayerIO as well as OpenPlayerIO servers.

There's no control panel built yet, so in order to use BigDB, you'll need to set up MongoDB with the database as the GameId.
