Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

String blocks

Something that has always bothered me about the piano is that it's impossible to hold out notes. If we had another instrument, this problem could be fixed. As I imagine it, string blocks would have almost the same interface as the piano, but with an enable/disable button somewhere. So if you select octave 4 G enable block, an octave 4 G string sound would play until you hit an octave 4 G disable block.

The actual instrument isn't that important, I just thought a synthetic string sound would be really good for this.

Currently playing through: Mega Man 1-6

Listen to my in-game music! (it's pretty much all I'm good at)

Re: String blocks

The only problem I have is that having enable and disable blocks for every note may be kind of confusing, where-as the current music system is pretty simple to use.

Perhaps instead of enable/disable blocks, we could have an extra option when placing a note block, to set the length of the note. There should be an input for tempo, and an input for the length in terms of a bar (1/4, 1/8, 3/4, etc). Alternatively, there could be an input for the length in seconds (you can input decimal numbers) but I think it would be a bit tedious because you would have to fiddle around with it to figure out the right number.

Re: String blocks

We should have a full ingame composer, like what https://musescore.com/ offers
