Why is there a happy gold-only smiley when you get a golden border around the normal one?

200 switches = 15k
100 coin doors = 10k (I bought most of them when they costed 1k)
50 b coin doors = 3.7k
60? spikes = 4.5k
40? fire = 3k
60? portals = 7.5k
40? invis portals = 5k
50? timed doors = 3.7k
50? team doors = 3.7k
50? zombie doors = 5k (bought at 1k)

that makes like... 50k

Let's do the count (with some rounding):
2000 coin doors = 200k
1500 blue coin doors = 120k
500 switches = 37.5k
500 team = 37.5k
200+ spikes = 15k
100+ portals (combined) = 10k
all others about 100 each = 12k

That makes like... 400k
=1 million minutes
=700 days
=2 years

Anyways, will we have something new to buy now I can't spend my energy on useful items? I already have all the worlds I need, all smileys, all blocks and all aura's...

Just for you, the mods will make a shop item that costs 5.000.000 energy. When you get it, all your previous limited items come back.

No unlimited for you.

Why are you crying for the items you had when the mods give you so many for free?  And by many I mean unlimited.

It didn't seem like jensj was complaining really, just putting some things in perspective. He just wants something so it doesn't feel like you are wasting energy by not using it. This has been mentioned numerous times, this post by bobithan is probably the most popular though.

I'm bumping this a bit, because I'm curious how things have worked out so far with the Gold Membership. Like most of us, I want this game to flourish, and I'm a bit worried that players will primarily buy Gold Membership and Beta Access with gems, seeing that is an option, which could take away from profits to keep the game alive and such. Players without Beta Access who have returned daily should be at 50+ gems by now, which isn't that far away from being able to purchase Beta Access with just gems. Is Gold Membership currently appealing enough? I'm asking because the aura is only visible in god mode, the gold smiley border is very similar to a regular border, which mostly leaves the custom smilies to show off support. Perhaps the Gold Membership smiley border when not in god mode could also be animated, maybe a glowing star that rotates around the smiley? Should we think of additions to the Gold Membership that would make it more appealing while not taking away features from the base-game? I guess maybe I shouldn't worry, since the staff hasn't rang an alarm-bell things are probably fine.

I had builders club and therefore gold membership now, I don't think it is worth having but I will probably continue buying it anyway.
