I've been suggesting stuff to Toop for quite a while now and I recently decided to take it one step further and publish some graphics suggestions I have.
So, here's a thread to have all my graphics ideas.

I'm not going to suggest smileys.
No requests, but ideas are welcome.

- The Mushroom pack -
EE's mario influence is quite obvious, so I thought we could go full mario on this one and add some mushroom blocks. Its inspiration comes from some guy's custom SMB3 tileset.

Already suggested to Toop, I think one of the prettiest EE block should have its bg version. So here it is :

Well I'm suggesting new packs and stuff, not suggestion replacements. I'm against changing anything we have.
I'd even prefer to have the choice between old and revamped blocks in EE right now.

From what I see these are mostly adaptations from existing games, right?
Mushroom pack from countless Mario games and checkers from Sonic. Dirt is just generic.

Other than that I think these look nice, and I don't mind seeing them ingame.

Good job, and I suggest another factory pack with the same as the Factory world made by Boh (miasmic). Do you remember? I don't have the link because Boh's profile is private.

Amazing stuff, I also always liked how the factory block looked too. IMO it should even have alternate versions.

First checkered blocks, now checkered checkered blocks.

I like them a lot! EE desperately needs more better looking in-game blocks. And finally, a real dirt block! It's sort of ironic how many people draw landscapes but all we have are bricks and sand.

I have to support Awesomenessgood though because I don't like how some blocks are a blatant rip-off from other games, but that's hypocritical because EE has ripped-off sprites already.

Yeah well i've actually just made these by watching some mario tilesets
For now i'm focusing on adapting stuff from other videogames to EE and expanding existing packs. I'd like to work on an extended Ruins pack in the next few weeks.

I also intend to adapt some other stuff from games using vgmaps.com

I could also adapt some of my previous works on spriting, i'll post some stuff about it later.

About factory blocks : I already have a modern fence block to suggest, i'm going to make some more modern blocks later for factory/industry stuff and release them altogether.

I think we have enough minimap colors so more grey isn't a problem. I know ee has this strange overly-embossed style for blocks but I really appreciate your flatter design. Again, it reminds me of super mario world but that's a good thing imo.

If you do not do them full solid (which I did...), it should be fine I guess. The transparency will help blending the fence into the background =P
