This is irrelevant though, because minimaps can still be generated from BigDB; even if they were hidden to users on BigDB the init data still has a "minimap."
Level playing is irrelevant because people can recreate them and skip all the challenges
Level creation is irrelevant because people can just use bots to automatically generate levels

N1KF is right. Hidden maps aren't any top secret or anything like that. It's just some worlds are more enjoyable and players have better gameplay experiance with hidden maps.

The idea is great.
And I like the idea of the minimaps showing "?" if it's disabled. I suggest a red band interlacing sides with they wrote "DISABLED!" because it could be more specific, or other.

You should know that campaigns use images for previews instead of generating them from world data so there is no problem with displaying question mark image or even in-game part of world. As for how we would do it I have no idea. We'll see

Simply. All campaign information is stored inside of the database and link to the image is here too. Loading it is much faster than getting world data.
As long as campaign doesn't come with new items it can be added without updating the client.

That would explain why some of the Fractured Fingers campaign levels have a full winner's list and some have it empty or not even there?
Shouldn't they all have full lists?
