I'm really not a huge fan of coop on gem hunts (hence the site giving user-specific keys) but the others are relatively far ahead, and you could probably talk any other place as well, so I won't explode. this time.

The two in front are almost done, actually. Idk if they'll catch on tho.

This one sent you to a link which explained that you needed to look at wikihow's "Finding lost objects". My more precise direction was in the form of the math problem, which was nearly 2.7 (which coincides with "retrace your steps")... I couldn't decide on numbers, so I converted "nerd" to decimal and used that. "Retrace your steps" meant to refresh the dossier.php page, which would instead give an image. I also mentioned that the trick had actually been used before... and the steganography wiki page. (I linked to Zelda's hunt for credit and all that) So, you'd take the image to https://futureboy.us/stegano/decinput.html and upload it for your key.

Just for kicks, I gave you a whose line video to watch. Some probably had already seen it. I simply asked a question central to the video. You had to watch about halfway to get the answer. ("quack")

This one was a bit challenging for some. A few different clues had to be pieced together.
-- Misspelled words (adding an extra character) spelled out EEPOSTIDEND (I think)
---- I put END so people would hopefully stop reading...
-- an HTML tag said "here's your sign" and a bolded message said "product"
so, you needed an EE POST ID and needed to multiply to get a product. The here's your sign showed two blocks, whose IDs are numbers. Multiplying the IDs got this post ID
... wherein you found the next key.

It's a repeat of step 1, except I replaced the 1's and 0's with zero-width characters. In other words, you couldn't SEE the binary, but it was there.
How I solved it:
paste the characters into notepad++
copy one character, replace it with 1.
copy the other, replace it with 0.
Convert the binary to string (like step 1).. if there is an error, swap the 1's and 0's.

We clearly have a glut of 2010 and 2011 players, the rest aren't coming in. Why did that time do so well and retain so much?

One of the more practical pieces: when should an event happen to cater to a larger group? Early morning UTC-8... right? Then the rest of the folks might be awake.

Awesome gem hunt man. only got to 5 but it was pretty fun to do.
I like how the 133 and 250 multiplied simply takes away the 1.. and I was busy mucking around on this thread and the kongregate thread for some reason. (saw that edit, lo)

Easy question. People who joined and played since then have everything they need from the shop. Newer players joining into a more bloated shop aren't as likely to stick around with so much missing content.
