Wow. This is actually really amazing and inspirational. I never understood how someone could change this much over so little time of being with us on EE, but now I think I finally understand. It's wonderful how you've come so far, Evilbunny, and I hope that you stay with us in the community. ^^

It's not really vice-versa. The joke creates a disconnect between linguistics and appearance. There is no correlation between the sound, qualities, or other language-related characteristics of a letter and its open or closed state. Instead, we're simply viewing its shape. A polygon is a closed figure, as is an oval (O).
