Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Charlie: Well, if you were directly above him, how could you see him?
Maverick: Because I was inverted.

It's not a joke. It sucks, man.

If one thinks this is funny one might as well blurt the word "Joke!" and expect people to roll on the floor in tears of laughter. But I agree that email verification should be removed.

I agree that email verification should be removed.
I agree that cell phone verification should be added, however.
that's a terrible idea. not everyone has cell phones.
honestly i'm actually surprisingly okay with email verification, given the fact that i USED to have a specific formula for the emails. just use a temp email. if you don't like using a temp email, make a new email account. easy as that.

I mean if you were looking to make EE never have a new player again then that would definitely do the job there.

Ok, so we agree that email verification should be removed. This has positive impact on the game in a few ways:
- I
- can
- Make alts

- and
- troll

What if the users who do use cell phone verification are allowed to have extra privileges, like a "verified" account? Maybe the verified accounts can do extra stuff that non-verified people can't.

I think that's a good idea. Would like to add.

Na, there's only 6,800,000,000 phones

...okay, that still doesn't mean that every single person who will ever want play ee has a cell phone. because, you know, twelve year olds. think of the "target audience".

okay, but how would ee go about doing that? like, the technical aspect? it's a flash game. honestly, it seems like it would be something completely pointless and a waste of resources for the staff, especially considering that it's not a super popular game. a "verified" account will add even more elitism to ee and alienate younger users, which kind of seems like your goal with the idea?

I've got the solution: account verification by postcard.

Well, it's not very elitist if the majority of the world already has a cell phone. Email verification can be considered elitism because not everyone has an email address.

Email verification can be considered elitism because not everyone has an email address.
except that, you know, emails are completely free and take like fifteen seconds to make and pretty much only requires an internet connection, as opposed to a cell phone which first, someone has to have, and then they have to have a plan for it, and then that plan has to have texting, and let's not even forget about the whole international texting thing. plus an internet connection to play ee in the first place.

well, obviously, probably several. especially probably in countries that, you know, aren't the US.
consider this:
you're on your computer. your phone's across the room. you wanna sign up for a game. but it has cell phone verification.
honestly, i'm not gonna sign up for it. i can handle email verification since it only requires a few keystrokes and mouse clicks, but i am way too lazy to get my phone if it's across the room. it's practically two different devices and that's just so cumbersome.

speaking from personal experience, which... honestly, means nothing, i didn't have a cell phone until 2013 when i was sixteen, and even then it was a crappy one from the dollar store that i wouldn't even bother with verifying anything with.

I mean I think most people would avoid signing up because it would mean giving your cell phone number to random people who could sell it to telemarketers but laziness is a good reason too.

I would like to point out that when you register for the game it asks for your email not your phone number.
if you don't have a valid email then don't register in the first place
