Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

How do you name minis?

I just wanted to know how you name certain types of minis.

I have my own way to name minis, but you'll probably not understand.

Medium-Length Minis

Long-Length Minis

Pretty explanatory

Category wrote:

Classic/Common Minis

They're common and unoriginal

Examples

Parkour

The biggest focus is jumping and not falling down.

Anti-Gravity Minis

Pretty explanatory.

Arrow Minis

Oh, and the favorite category of the experienced players, focus on all controls (arrow keys and spacebar).

(These types can also be mixed together)

Timing

iT3A2FK.png

You know very well, a "time your moves" mini. Can also be called Perfect Timing when harder.

Back and Forth

PVidEoA.png

Very common mini where you have to get force through arrows.

Force Control

KOW4ucA.png

It's almost like timing, but you have to regulate your force.

Flipjumps

Just take a look at the image.

Tiny

STrZiL2.png

Just very small arrow minis used to challenge the player to get a certain thing, barely considered mini.

Difficulty wrote:

Yes, I know the difficulties can be easy, medium and hard, or divided in even more difficulties. That's just another way to classify the difficulty of a mini.

Simple

9aJPn8b.png

They're easy and enjoyable, not that hard to understand.

Complex

5m3fl4a.png

They're confusing and therefore hard. Favorite for players who likes hard challenges. Exploits are frequently spotted.
(Also my style)

Repetitive

You have to do the same thing multiple times to complete it. May be common or uncommon, but normally these are annoying.

I must've forgot some.

How do you name each mini?

This is a false statement.

Maybe name them with numbers?

Re: How do you name minis?

If you're going to use examples, at least use really good minis from better levels.  Sometimes I will 'name' a mini based on one small aspect of the mini, that usually stands out more.  However the real great quality minis are those that don't fall into any one type of categorization, such as Platforming (what you call parkour), Speed Control, and back jumping.

Re: How do you name minis?

Thanks, this is useful. I make a lot of minigame worlds but the minis themselves are either simple or pretty much impossible but this helps a whole lot.
I guess I'd consider my minis slightly unoriginal as well but I guess it won't hurt to try to work with arrows more than I usually do to help that.
I'm sure you don't mind if I get tempted to make slightly similar designs to your minis in the pictures, right?

People have made slightly similar designs to those minis for years.

Original minis by *anybody* are rare.  Most everything has been done before, but thats alright.

I realise but what I meant is that I've pretty much always created the same minigames but different sizes or shapes and this gives me some cool ideas.
