Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Do you think world description is used much? Are you content with how much world description is used? If not enough, how do you think we could encourage people to use it more (both writing and reading descriptions)?

world description exists?

Make it so it doesn't take longer to preview the world than it does to join it for a second then leave?

I don't think that people consciously know that they should go in the world and leave because it's quicker, I think it's that they literally forget that world preview even exists. Take pingohits' post for example:

oh
is it that message that appears when you spectate a world

I consciously don't preview worlds because of how long they take to load.

It's the thing next to the play button in the lobby.

From what I've seen world descriptions are reset every time the world becomes empty and re-opened, thus the world owner has to save it every time the level is in the lobby for it to show up.

Well that's unintentional. Thanks for not telling us TOOP

Maybe it would be more convenient, if the world row would expand on hover and show the information beneath it.
If the loading time for the map is a problem here, just replace it while loading with the new animation.

Add an option to search by world description.

To encourage people to use world descriptions, I propose the following:
- allow the world description to be longer (at least a couple of paragraphs; at smallest 140 characters.) This would allow someone to separate themselves from every other "boss to code" level that there is, or to avoid using dozens of signs that could be otherwise a world description
- allow searching by world description
- allow others to suggest a world description for the owner (might be quite spammy though.)
- make the world description button easier to access, and maybe have the description appear when someone hovers over the level in the lobby or on the page that is shown when a user joins a level
- allow spell checking for world descriptions

how bout showing it at the "Trying to join game, please wait" screen?
EDIT: nvm, I just realized it defeats the purpose of having world previews

Make it show while loading the world, instead of the useless:
'Joining the game! Thing u should already know!
Here are the crap WASD already known keyboard keys!
W A S D Space and Mouse!
'

Why would you want to preview the world after you have entered? Preview is so you know what it's like before you enter.

Well the world preview only shows the art...

Well everyone knows how to use WASD and the spacebar...
Minimap preview and description on the loading screen to a world would be better

I noticed the same and told Processor.
Miscommunication, it's everywhere!

Okay, I take it back. Even if it's not necessarily for a preview before entering, putting it on the loading screen would mean that people would notice it more and have a use for it. Maybe when the world finishes loading, the world preview and description stays there as a window that you can close, in case you wanted to read the description but didn't have time.

The problem is, a copy of the level has to actually be loaded to give you the mini-map. I believe the preview uses the saved version from the database.
