Ability to select ID of the blocks in hotbar

What the title says.
So when you need to use action blokcs like: switches, coin doors/gates, portals, signs, effect, first you need to select and ID or a number of coins or text or enable/disable option. But you can only do that when you open the menu of all the blocks. It would be easier to select the ID, text,.... directly from the hotbar, like this:

N1KF, 272, Prodigy, Krosis, AmdS, skullz17, Jesse, Badoosh, SPT, kubapolish, Weirdoverse, madiik, drstereos, Gosha, KingFudge, Freckleface

On the one hand, it would indeed be useful, but on the other hand, it'd mean that, if every time you select the block, you'd get that popup asking for amount/text/enable/disable, which would also be meh.

Perhaps double-clicking would bring up the block settings menu?

This could also work by hovering on it, if it leaves the box it hides.

Well this thread rose from the dead! It had like only 4 woots and then it was forgotten...
