I don't see other players in the world

So I went to my friend's world, and then when I went it said there was no one there. All the blocks were there, and I was still the Devil so I knew I wasn't just lagging. I exited and it still said my friend was in that world. Then he came to my world and I told him to go to his world but he said he already was, and we found out that were were both in the same world but we didn't see each other.
Is this happening for anyone else?

I remember I got the opposite of this bug, the player list was empty but me but I could see some smilies around with names under them.

That's with a bot.
Bots are more glitchy than humans.
