Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

If not, I can make it/help make it.   I am quite knowledgeable in HTML and CSS, as is Maikel.

Re: EE_Bot, A User Conifgurable Event-Listener

Thanks for the offer guys. I'm currently working on it (at 1AM //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile). I hope I'll be able to share it with you in the next few days. This website will also be used for the beta-testing applications. And I've worked out the licensing: Upon beta-testing application you'll have to tie your EE login e-mail to a hardware-id. The bot can than only be used from one computer.

So stay tuned ;-)

Waitasec.   One computer, or one IP?   Because I regularly use two different computers, with the same IP.

It uses the hardware ID of the computer, so yes, it would be limited to one computer, unless you got to of the bots or something.

Oh yeah, didn't see the word 'hardware'.   Crap!   I guess I'd be fine with one and better with two.

Aww... Sharing a bot with everybody is a bad choice, my friend. After that, 'Shift'-like levels won't be epic anymore. EOpYT.png

True, but it would still need to time, and see where players are (if they get crown)

I guess it could be possible with the OnEvent functions, Im not sure

Don't listen to those "Slow life-complainers" Who don't want this bot to be public. Why not? This bot would innovate new stuff into EE and all you have to think about is "Oh, I am a wussie, I will cry, trollers wo-wo-would useh iht"..

Trollers can still be trolls.
Just don't give out the code, see?
And we all want EE to be innovative and new.
So why not this?
Chris, release this.
Don't listen to them.

There really are no consiquences that could have happend before this.
All you people care about is it going into the wrong hands.
You don't need to worry because those "Wrong handed" people
cannot get the code with out you giving it to them, or them guessing your silly
little worthless 4 number code.

My words. If someone has the knowledge to reverse engineer the bot, he will also have the skill to use a flash decompiler on the EE-Game and write his own bot - this would be much faster than trying to bypass the licensing. And the bot itslef will not enforce trolling, since he only can join owned worlds. And if someone abuses it somehow, I can easyly revoke the testing-license and make the software unusable.

At the moment I'm working on the web-backend so there is not much progress and no new video :-( I'll have to make a lot of code changes on the Bot as well in order to fully implement the licsenses. So i think it will take one or two weeks (because im not at home 4 to 5 days in the coming two weeks) to make some progress there. I also have to finish another webproject this week so development will be slow :-/

In addition, I've found two promising free hosting solutions one with and one without ads. I' currently going for the second one but they have only a very limited amount of new registrations per day so it will take some time till i can open beta registration. And whil we're on it, maybe some infos about the registration progress.

You'll have to visit the website in order to accept the closed-beta terms of use. There you'll be able to download a tool that sends your hardware id to the server. Then you revisit the website and fill out an application form. This form will include some questions, like what you're planning to do with the bot (by the way: applications consistiong of "I want to copy shift" will be turned down...). I then select a few of the applicants and generate licenses for the so that they can test the bot. The number of testers will increase with every major change in the bot.

I hope I can limit the "shift"-copycats with this step and enforce more unique levels... If someone has thoughts on this don't hesitate to share them ;-)
And because I don't have a video this time I'll share a screenshot with you //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

Uh.. we're not worried about people getting the damn code, we're worried that levels powered by bots will appear everywhere, just like stairs.

It would be cool if you released this to the public, but I reckon you should allow only trustworthy people to use the bot.
