This doesn't necessarily work because EE has no distinct characteristics or quirks that make it memorable. It's much like any other platformer, just with a level editor built in.

This... with cave story you've got guns that shoot bubbles that, when popped, shoot out lightning bolts. EE has nothing of the sort.
