Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Well, I don't believe that. It's just a story.
Discuss here facts and thoughts!
yes i beleve it will be as real as the Oct 21 2011 end of the world thing the large hadron collider, 2008, 3 times in 2007, 2004 twice, 5 in 2001, and the Millennium bug
soz for spelling btw
We'll find out.
It's not impossible, there are some things that even NASA can't predict, but that is incredibly unlikely because NASA knows too much.
I've read a book on this subject that goes into a lot of detail, just to pass time. Although it is unclear what the Mayans predict specifically (mainly because of their extinct hieroglyphics), most have narrowed it down into two categories: absolute destruction (there were several Earths before us (apparently) and each one ends their own way according to them (one was fire demons coming from the center of the earth)) or the opening of a new chukra which leads to a fifth sense.
Who knows.
Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

No one know really what will happened or will it happen. The only one who know is god really. We'll just have to wait and see.
great72 should find this topic really soon I went over to his house about a month ago and we talked about the same thing. (whats an apocalypse?)
Apocalypse <---- Read this!
No, I don't think an apocalypse will come. The Mayans just didn't have enough room to make their calander last anymore than Dec 2012, and no one cared until that movie enhanced the tension of that event.
And btw, here's something coincidental (even though it doesn't prove anything, it's just eye-opening). When you add the date 9/11/01(Plane Hijacks) and 3/11/11 (Japanese Eartquake and Tsunami), you get the day after the "end of the world", which is very eye popping.

Yes it is true. Like it was true in: 2000, 2006 , 2007 ...
That is pretty much bullpoop.
:/ huh.Thats cool

Wow never realized this! You will probably find that they actually didn't predict the world ending, because what where they supposed to do make an infinite calendar? That would be impossible so they just happened to stop at a certain point in time I mean think from their point of view, lets say you were going to make some calendar you wouldn't
make millions of years of calender you would just make a bit then stop somewhere and it just so happens that the point at which they stopped is almost upon us! I don't even think that they even made prophecies! (this is all my point of view)
It won't. For an essay once, my friend wrote 15 pages on why it will not end.
The world won't be destroyed. There will be a massive terrorist attack. So basically the world as we know it WILL actually end.
I have no facts I'm just saying

I spent a long period researching and debating this topic in school this year. I will try to be as unbiased (IMPOSSIBLE!!!!) as I can until the end of this post.
The Maya have predicted dozens of modern occurrences within a thirty minute range, and, therefore, one should give credit to their claims. However, the Mayan calendar doesn't actually say that the world will end; in all likelihood, they simply ran out of room. In addition, all of the Maya who believe this date is special don't believe it signifies the end of the world, but rather a turning point for the human race. They believe it will be a period of enlightening which, as Tako said, will lead to a higher power of some sort (ex: sixth sense, fifth dimension, etc). On the other hand, the Aztecs, neighbors of the Maya, once believed this date signifies the end of the world, yet this prediction is attributed to the Maya. The Aztecs actually believed the world will end in some specific way... I think it was earthquakes, but maybe not.
The history which some people use in order to back the Maya's claim makes a lot of sense, actually; it's scary. I'll leave you guys to find that stuff out yourselves, though.
My opinion? Well, many people have substantiated the claim, so why not? I wouldn't put much stock in it, as some people did last time (lol), but I won't doubt that it's certainly a possibility, too. We'll see in less than eleven months.

If I had a quarter every time I heard this. I guess that's what anyone would say, but if you study the Mayans for more than 5 minutes you'd know about their love for astronomy and dates enough to say they wouldn't just end it because they ran out of space on their calendars.

I demand link.
[rusty knowledge paired with assumptions:]
Well, the calendar probably doesn't say much, but those people believe the end of a certain time period signifies significant events as you said.
We'll see in less than eleven months.
What.

I myself don't personally believe it, but all we'll have to do is wait and see.

'crept that no.
9+3=12
11+11=22
22=/=21
your logic is invalid.
Also, one was a Madden disaster, and one was natural.
Okay, I'm going to go on the memorialize of a history documentation I watched earlier this moths, so pasta me if this is wrong.
K, so, the Dayan colander has icicles based on numbers and there's one called 'the long period' where some god will come and land on a temple or something.
Anyway, the long Esdras ends on the date of the 'apocalypse'.
After that, life begins again. read more here.
Also, all those typos were just for the lulz when I saw that my spell checker wanted to change manmade into 'madden' so it's up to you to figure out what I'm trying to say.
Y2K never happened, we didn't die in may, so I don't think anything's going to happen except for widespread idiocy, bible thumping, and riots. and panicking.

Derp.
He said the day after.
The day after the 21st is the 22nd.
Also.
My belief is basically what Zoey has said, nothing bad is going to happen other than war, panic, and terrorist attacks.
I swear though, I would love some excitement on that day. Haha, even if I die that day I would love to have some excitement in my life.

Do I believe it will happen?
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no.
Do I believe it will happen?
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no.
My thoughts in a nutshell.
simple answer, no.
however, i believe shift explained it all quite well!
Yes, it is true! I have the button to make the world go BOOM!
Yes, it is true! I have the button to make the world go BOOM!
Seems legit.
I knew it, the apocalypse would be triggered by ham. I've cursed pigs for years, I've told EVERYONE, but no one believes me.
(ex: sixth sense, fifth dimension, etc)
No one knows what dimensions are nowadays...
We are in the third dimension. We cannot exist in another dimension. The fourth is a period of time (specifically, duration), and the fifth is the changing of, or jumping of certain periods of times (durations).
It won't end, but I'm sure a ton of people are gonna commit suicide.
